Hi there, sorry to interrupt, but I'm hoping that some of you might be able to help me. In light of recent events, I'm looking for some volunteers to form a focus group to help give me a picture of the current public attitude of the island, and where you feel we stand on certain issues. You don't have to attend anything, you can simply respond through the net. Now, I don't want this to turn into a fight, the point is that it is an open platform to speak your mind, and we mustn't judge each other on this.

Unfortunately, I have no means to reimburse you for your time, but if you would like something like a kit kat or a cup of tea, you just let me know and I'll arrange it.

If you are interested in helping, you'll find my starting question beneath the filter. At this time, I am filtering the group to over 18s only due to the nature of this particular group, but that's not to say that I don't value your opinion, and I may require a wider demographic at some point in the future.

Just to get things started, I'm interested in gauging the current attitudes towards sexual activity on the island. I'm aware that we are all from different time periods, and this is bound to have an impact.

What would you consider "too much" with regards to sexual activity?

Just to give you an example from past focus groups, some of the responses have included dogging, badgering, rimming and bear-baiting, to name a few. Where do you stand on these? Is there anything else you would consider unacceptable?

Items raised during focus group-

We are currently in agreement that paedophilia is unacceptable. There is a need to discuss legal age limits.

Pegging has been raised as a potential issue.

Dogging and voyeurism raised concerns, as did public sex in general.

Bestiality may be considered too far.

Possibility of sex education on the island- perhaps raise this issue with the medical staff.

In my experience, people are generally very uptight about it, but I think that's a British thing, and more to do with the sorts of people I was around most of the time.

I would hope that no one would want to ban people from talking about it altogether, but it does seem to be leaning that way. Do what you want in your bedroom, but don't talk about publicly. I think filters are the way forward. Banning never ends well.

Yes, the issue of deciding on an age of consent was raised. It's certainly not something that's going to be easy. Perhaps a vote of some kind- it's just going to lead to arguments, but I think it probably is necessary. What is considered acceptable is going to be different depending on cultural backgrounds. I think even when there is a consenting age in place, the law protects two consenting minors- it's only when one partner is over the age and the other under it that it becomes an issue. And even at that, there are grey areas.

As for bestiality, I think you're right in saying that consent is the main issue here- there are plenty of people on the island who have an animal form, and I don't think anyone can very well tell them they can't have sex in that form. That's ridiculous. It was raised as a simple human shagging an animal incapable of consent issue.

Most of the people who've made a fuss about it here are American... So much for Land of the Free and all that bull.

I guess a vote on an acceptable age would be the best way to go. Everyone's gonna have a different opinion based on their own background but it's only fair to listen to everyone. Me? I had werewolf hormones, which are really freaking difficult to control at the best of times, so I was screwed from the start. Pun not intended. But the point is that I was old enough to know what I wanted and intelligent enough not to get myself into any trouble because of it, even when I wasn't technically "legal". Sucks that you can't teach some people common sense.

Consent seems to be the issue here on most things. If someone involved doesn't consent, you can't do it. Seems pretty simple when it's put that way.

And, lol. I love it when you Brits say "shagging".

That's one of those things that I forget is British. Like "slagging off" which translates very poorly to an American audience, apparently.

	Like I said, bull. If you just make it a simple vote, people shouldn't fight too much. Put up a range of ages and people just vote for their favorite. Majority wins. Isn't that how democracy works? You'd like to think, yeah. In theory, but from other issues that have been raised on the island, people seem really fucking resistant to democracy. They love it in theory, but if the result isn't one they like- well, there's a reason I don't like most people.

Doesn't it? It's pretty innocent- it just means to mock someone. I was so confused why everyone was looking at me like I'd taken a shit in the kettle.
