So...who is the Amanda who won me in auction...

And what exactly does it mean that she won me in auction?

I mean, I appreciate it and all...and I wanted to do good for charity...but I'm not exactly sure what I've gotten myself into here...

I didn't realize this was any of your concern.

Maybe not, but I'm nosy and this is on a public forum, sweetheart.

Yeah. Men can be jerks. But it looks like he's trying to apologize, which is more than you'll get from most men, and you're throwing a pity party for one!

Call it whatever you like. This was supposed to be FOR charity, not an act OF charity.

All I hear are tiny violins.

Look. I'm not telling you what you should or shouldn't do so far as the date goes. But there's no need to get so passive aggressive about things. It makes you look foolish and immature.

I was simply trying to turn him down in a polite manner. Perhaps it would have been better if I'd simply come out and said "No, you're an arse and I don't want to."? Because that wouldn't have been immature at all, right?

Oh yes, because passive aggressiveness screams polite.

It would have been honest, at the very least. Give him a break. He didn't understand what he'd signed up for, and he was asking for clarification on what was expected of him.

And I explained that I expected nothing from him. In the very beginning. I didn't want him to feel uncomfortable with the situation. But suddenly I'm the bad guy and I'm throwing a pity party all because I tried to politely decline.
