Anders never should have said those things. I know that.

He has a god in his head. Literally. I went through that once. I did things I never would have done otherwise. It wasn't so different from when my Dad made me help him. I should have stopped him, but I couldn't. I couldn't stop the god either. It's the worst feeling.

She threatened me that time. And now, she's talking about gods and sex, and Hannibal. It feels like it was aimed at me too.

No he shouldn't have. That's... Even if you're the type to sleep around, it's just not cool to talk about the girls you've slept with like that. Even if this place doesn't judge people in the same way others do, and did, it's still not okay to make a girl sound like she sleeps around.

The difference between what you did, and what he did... Is you're not running around bragging about it, like you won something. And the thing with your dad it was self preservation.

Don't forget she had a god in her head too, maybe her god made her make the threats. I don't think it's you she's talking about. I think you're safe.

BUT... Do you want to come over here, so I can make sure you're safe?

The difference is that he still has a god in his head. I don't. I wouldn't brag. Hel, the goddess, might if she was still in my head. She said all kinds of things.

If Anders can be killed or imprisoned for what a god makes him say and do, then I can be killed or locked up for what Hel made me do. I could be next once she's done with him.

I'm not safe. No one's safe. It's always something on this island.

I'm with Pop. You could come here.

Yeah, but you didn't. And I don't think he was picking a fight because of the god. He was kind of a jerk from the get go, because it was her and some guy singing together. I thought they sounded pretty good, but he said some pretty nasty things.

There's still big differences between you and him. I don't think you really have a mean bone in your body. I'm not so sure about this guy. And you weren't with someone's spouse, right?

You're safe from her, is what I meant. At least in this instance.

I don't know, I'll let you chill with your Pop.

I was with someone in a relationship. I don't know if they technically had the rings or the paper, but they were committed to each other. I did other things too, including saying nasty things. I wouldn't have done any of it if Hel hadn't been in my head.

I'm not safe from her. Not ever. It's okay. I can live with it, just like I live with all the other dangerous parts of island life.

Why live with it? Because I have to. Scary things will happen, the fog, the gods, the ghosts, all of it. The threats of violence are always going to scare me the most because of my past. Every time I read them is going to be hard. But I live with it, because there are good things here too. More good than bad.

Just maybe? I can make you something with bacon.

	Sometimes neither works. I didn't fight my Dad but I didn't try to run either. I can do that here, just keep my head down and not attract attention to myself from dangerous people. Anders might play with the bull, but I don't. I can know Hannibal's dangerous and still be his daughter if he comes back. Because I loved him as a father when he was here.
