Who: Alexander and Astoria
When: This morning
Where: The Greengrass house
What: A visit of sorts.
Warnings/Ratings: PG for language and veiled threats

Alexander kicked back and stared idly at the ceiling for a moment not really seeing it. It was boring and kind of trite like the rest of the house but the Greengrass' were old friends as most of the pureblood families were. No he wasn't here for a social call, this was business. If he had his way he would have sent one of the minions to do the job for him but if you wanted a job done right you had to do it yourself.

His old friend had let him in, surprised to see him, but knew better than to ask questions. Most people knew better than to ask Alexander what he was doing there. His fingers were nimble as he found the cuff of his shirt and started to roll it up to just below his elbows, eager to show off the "tattoo" that adorned his forearm. He needed the girl to remember just who he was and who he served.

"You know it's rude to keep someone waiting love," he pointed out as the blonde finally walked into the room, shown in by her father, who promptly left. Alexander was a lot of things but no one would question his virtue around the younger generation. Especially a blonde, he hated blondes. They were too sunny. "Why don't you take a seat and we'll get this over with and pretend we hit all the rubbish social stuff you ladies set so much store by."

There was a time and place for everything, however, Astoria was finding it harder and harder to keep the line between right and wrong from blurring. What had originated as a feeling of numbness was thawing, with it her ability to hold her tongue.

Without thinking, Astoria found herself grinning at Alexander Yaxley. "By your own admission, you've now come to visit a frivolous girl who means nothing." Before she could stop herself, she giggled before continuing. "I was the object of his affect for a short time. That, would be it. He is now obligated to marry Miss Moon, and as such she is the one you should be seeing. She'll be the next Malfoy bride, and the one who will be obligated to share in his debts."

Alexander shook his head biting back the acid responses that fought for release. Blondes really were as stupid as they were said to be. "I don't think so. You'll find that's not the way the book works. It will be how I say it'll be and his debts are half yours now." He wasn't one to be shaken nor was he stupid.

"So you better make sure he's willing to do what he has to do and shut up about it or I'll be back to collect the payment. In blood. Your blood." It didn't do good to threaten people with their own well being. Most would glad die if it spared another.

"Can I ask what debts are half mine? I assume they're not monetary since the Malfoys have more wealth than anyone else I can think of." She shrugged and ran her hands over her skirt, smoothing out imaginary wrinkles. "If they are half mine, I would like to help absolve them so there's nothing I then owe."

"Now, I am supposed to make him do what it is you have planned for him, or you're coming back to collect from me. I am correct in this, yes? Now who is supposed to shut up? Me or him? Or both?" By the end of her questions, Astoria's eyes grew large as she covered her mouth with her hands.

"I'm sorry..." She said her words muffled before she dropped her hands again. "I don't know what's gotten into me."

"Oh this has nothing to do with money sweetheart," Alexander said in an easy drawl as if it was nothing out of the ordinary. "They have committed sins against the Dark Lord and he doesn't take kindly to those that disobey." He wanted to teach a lesson and that's what was going to happen.

Alexander raised an eyebrow knowing that he didn't have to answer that for the answer to be made clear. What was the debt of one was the debt of the other and the Dark Lord always collected.

"I mean if this is an issue with you we can always take this up with the Dark Lord directly... Mind you, he's not as charming as me."

"No, no. This..." She said waving her hand to indicate just the two of them. "... This is just fine to me. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the Dark Lord but I would rather go before him for a more significant reason than my being used as a pawn against Draco."

"I do have a concern, sir." She managed as she nervously tugged at a curl. "If he is not as... devoted to me as you believe he is, just what exactly do you plan on doing? As I said, I was an object of his affections, he has another lady in his life now."

Alexander couldn't help but laugh out loud. "You really wish to go in front of him for any reason? You really stupider than you look." It wasn't something he would wish on anyone except maybe his worse enemy. "That is how this game is played darling so get used to it. It's not fair, it's not right and there usually is no sense in it."

"I think we both don't need to worry about that. If not well then you're just expendable and we'll have to get rid of you."

"Well, no, I don't want to go before him. But, if I were expected to, I'd hope it was something else." Astoria chewed her bottom lip a moment and sighed. "Forget it, nothing I'm going to say is going to make much sense and well, you've said what you came to say."

"Since I am now a pawn, I assume you need to know where I am? Just... in case you need to make an example, yes?" For someone who was discussing her own torture or death or whatever it was that would be planned for her, Astoria was surprisingly calm. After all, she needed to know just what the rules of the game were, in case she ended up with a loop hole and a way to escape.

"Don't worry, we have our own ways of keeping track of what needs keeping track of." He said with a shrug knowing that Voldermort was skilled at using certain tricks to get what he wanted and if not he was a master of getting the information from people. "Your daddy wouldn't dare lie to us if we were to ask anyhow."

"Most things women say don't make sense anyhow so why bother?" Most of them were a little cracked anyhow, look at Bellatrix. It was alright though because in the end they did make nice little pawns.

"No, I wouldn't expect him to lie to you." She looked down at her hands as they lay in her lap a moment before she raised her eyes to him once again. "Sir, you have now told me of my part to play, threatened me, and insulted me - all within the span of an hour. Are we finished?"

"We're not finished until I say so," He said easily knowing that no one, except the Dark Lord, dismissed him and least of all not an insolent child. "Your parents sure did a rubbish job raising you to have fine manners." Alexander got easily to his feet in one swift motion.

"No worries that debt however will between you and I. I will come to collect it when you least expect it from someone least expecting me." It was how the twisted balance worked in his mind. "Then maybe you'll learn to mind your manners."

"Very well." And with those two words muttered, Astoria sat back in the chair she had been seated in from the beginning and placed her hands in her lap. If he was going to play the manners card, she'd bite back every scathing remark she could think of. And at the moment, there were plenty. In doing so, she invoked the age old wisdom that every mother passed down to her children. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

"Is there anything else I am needed for?"

"Nope, sometimes the best way to add to something is to be silent." He said as he got to his feet and saw himself out. He didn't care if it was rude or what not. He still had to talk to her father and he felt he didn't owe her anything manner wise after her snarky remarks.
