Maybe it was just that he was in love with her, but whenever Gwendolyn was on the stage, Adrian found he couldn't keep his eyes off her. She seemed to steal every scene, so when the curtain finally dropped and the lights came on, Adrian found himself on his feet, giving a standing ovation, something he'd never done before. The crowd started to move out of the theatre, and Adrian found himself excited to see her. He'd planned an extravagant night for their first Valentine's together since Hogwarts, and he couldn't wait to see if she liked it.

Astoria thought he was crazy, he knew, because he didn't believe he had much of a chance of changing Gwen's heart about how she felt, but he still wanted to give her everything he could. With Stori's help, he had the whole evening planned out.

Holding a single red rose, he waited at the side door, much like he had the first time he'd come to see her in a play, only this time, he wasn't nervous that she'd just slap him and walk away.

"You were great!" he said, when she finally came out. "This is for you."

There really was nothing in the world quite like making Gwendolyn come apart like that, not even scoring a goal during a tough match. "It was my grandmother's," he said, fixing the clasp, then moving so she could see her reflection in the wardrobe mirror. "Goblin-made, naturally. It was gathering dust in my vault, and it deserves to be worn by someone that does it justice. Someone like you."

Walking over to the mirror she looked at herself, completely naked with the most stunning necklace she'd ever seen. Her fingers went up to the necklace, gingerly touching it. "It's really amazing Adrian, thank you." Gwendolyn said glancing over her shoulder at him. Another glance or two at herself in the mirror, and Gwendolyn turned around to face him. Personally, Adrian didn't think Gwendolyn needed anything more that what she was wearing to make her the most beautiful girl in the world. She took his breath away.

"You deserve it," he whispered against her mouth. "Now, I believe it's time for my dessert. Lie on the bed, please." He went back into the bathroom, hanging up the wet towels, and retrieving the remaining strawberries before rejoining her. Gwen smiled against his lips at his words. He really did make her feel amazing at times. At his request, Gwendolyn nodded. She glanced down at her towel, briefly before deciding to leave it and walking over to the bed. She laid down, scooting so that she was in the centre of the bed.
