Who: Remus Lupin, Sirius Black and Lily Potter (With Luke Potter)
What: Sirius is bored, Remus decides to get him out of the flat
When: Tuesday, July 10th. Early evening
Where: The park
Status: In Progress

As happy as Remus was that Sirius was back, he wasn't exactly thrilled at the idea of Sirius using his books to make a fort. None of them were particularly old books, but that didn't mean that Remus wanted them used to make a fort, which had the possibility of collapsing and ruining and pages and/or spines of the books, depending on how they landed. As he had walked home from work, Remus had devised a plan to get Sirius out of the flat for a little while and try to alleviate his boredom. Remus had called Lily as he walked home and had asked her if she would mind meeting them in the park with Luke, because he thought that Sirius might enjoy seeing them for a little bit. They had agreed on meeting in half an hour, which should give Remus plenty of time get Sirius up and out the door.

Reaching the flat, Remus went in, bracing himself for whatever mess Sirius may have left in his wake. Truth be told, Remus didn't exactly mind all that much when Sirius left things around the flat, because it reminded him that Sirius was there again and that he hadn't simply missed him so much that he'd imagined it, "Sirius, where are you?" Closing the door behind him, he walked through the living room to where there was an unmistakable fort of books, "I'm guessing this is what you'd always wanted to do with the books in the library at Hogwarts, isn't it?"

At Remus' question, Sirius leaned in and kissed Remus firmly, one hand curling around the other man's elbow for the moment their lips pressed together. Then, when he pulled back, he slid his hand from his elbow to pluck the coffee cup back out of Remus' grip. Sirius quirked an eyebrow at him over the rim of the cup as he took a sip, finishing the drink off in a few gulps before wandering round to abandon the mug in the kitchen somewhere.

"Can we leave the fort up til we get back?" he bellowed back, probably with more volume than was really needed to be heard across the flat, but there you go. He liked to make sure people were paying attention.

Now why hadn't Remus thought of that? Oh yeah, he'd been too concerned about his books to think about kissing Sirius. Running a hand through his hair as he watched Sirius go into the kitchen to dispose of his coffee cup, "I suppose. I'll pick up another bookcase this weekend as well, so that we can clear away some of the books on the bedroom floor." Instead of Sirius resuming residence in his old bedroom, Remus had suggested that they simply share Remus' room, partly because in Remus' mind, if Sirius went to sleep beside him then he had to wake up next to him. Of course he knew that wasn't the case if Asaph decided he wanted to send Sirius back, but Remus could tell himself that his theory was correct in order to help him sleep at night. The other reason, was that if they shared a bed then perhaps it wouldn't be long before Remus was comfortable enough to take their relationship to the next level. "Are you ready to go?"

"Good!" Sirius called back. "I keep nearly breaking my neck when I get up in the night." Which he was doing quite a lot recently, Dementors and Peter making regular occurances in his dreams. It was better than it would have been, because when he woke it was to Remus' warm, comforting weight beside him. And that made it a bit easier to cling onto himself and go back to sleep.

He reemerged from the kitchen, sliding his wand into his back pocket as he nodded and bounced on the balls of his feet, giving off the impression of a slightly overexcited puppy. "Yup! Are we apparating?"

Remus walked most places, unless he had to apparate, seeing as the city wasn't too big, but he figured apparating to the park was probably better so they could get their quickly then walk around until they ran into Lily and Luke. "That would probably be best. We can apparate to the lake and wander until we run into them." Since Sirius still didn't have a wand, Remus met him as he came out of the kitchen and took his arm, "You also need a wand soon." With that, he apparated them to the park.

Sirius allowed Remus to take his arm and shut his eyes tight as they apparated away. He hated not having his wand - it made him feel like he was missing a massive part of himself, like he was helpless and vulnerable. Still, there was the familiar squeezing and pressing sensation and then they were stood in the park. Sirius slipped his arm from Remus' for a moment, stretching his neck back to look at the blue sky above them before nudging Remus gently in the ribs.

"Come on, then." And he led the way off down one of the paths, happy to wander until Lily and the baby showed up.

Lily was quite eager to get out and see them both. Things were getting a lot more difficult for her the closer she got to Luke's birthday and she hadn't felt incredibly sociable, which wasn't really like her. But now that Sirius was back and Remus was happier maybe it would be infectious. Besides, as long as she had those two she knew she would always be okay. So she prepared Luke in his pram and got a bag together and left to walk to the park. She didn't quite want to apparate with him in her arms, it wouldn't be pleasing for him.

Once she arrived, she kept walking and eventually she found them. "There you both are."

As they walked along, Remus kept an eye out for Lily so as not to miss her as they talked about various things. Hearing her voice, Remus turned his attention in her direction and smiled, "Well there you are." Moving away from Sirius, Remus went over to give Lily a hug then stooped down to say hello to Luke in the carriage. He had been honored when they had told him that he was Luke's Godfather, upon his arrival back in November, and aside from the time just after Sirius had been sent back and he'd been quite upset, he took that role seriously and tried to visit Lily and Luke often.

Sirius trotted happily after Remus once they noticed Lily, waiting for him to step aside before gathering the redhead in a bear hug of his own. "How's it going, Evans?" he beamed. It was remarkable, really, how well he was getting over what had happened to him just before he arrived. Or, at least, how well he was pretending to get over what had happened to him just before he arrived.

He ducked down beside Remus to say hey to the baby, subtly spreading a hand in the spot between Remus' shoulderblades as he did so. Sirius could probably spend hours pulling faces at Luke and be perfectly content - perhaps having the baby round might have saved Remus' books from being turned into a fort.

She hugged Remus happily, even if she still felt a little awkward about what she had admitted to under that compulsion to speak the truth. But he was her best friend and nothing could get in the way now. Not when she needed him so badly. And then came the overly enthusiastic hug from Sirius and it did make her laugh as she returned it. "It's Potter, remember?"

Though even her surname had the ability to make her upset since she just thought of James even more. Not that she ever stopped thinking of James but right now, seeing Remus and Sirius, and going on about her name made her ache that little bit more.

"Can take him out if you want, we'll just need to be careful he doesn't crawl off. I still can't believe he's nearly one." She sighed softly, not quite upset but not entirely happy, then looked up. "Where shall we go?"

A small smile spread across Remus' lips as he felt the light pressure of Sirius' hand between his shoulderblades. He was quite glad that he no longer flinched or tensed up when Sirius touched him, because all he could think about was that Sirius must have gotten rather annoyed with him then considering the other Remus who had been there wouldn't have done that. Now though, Remus had become increasingly more comfortable with the small touches and was glad to have that back.

Nudging Sirius out of the way, Remus reached into the carriage and undid the clasp on the belt that secured Luke into and lifted him out as he stood up, "It is rather unbelievable. He was only about three months old when I arrived and now look at him." Of course he looked like Harry had at that age and it made Remus both sad and happy to be able to see Luke age past a year, which he hadn't gotten to do with Harry.

"We'll have to sort out a party." Sirius straightened up as Remus got Luke out of his carriage. A pigeon fluttered a bit close to the path they were stood upon and Sirius stared at it for a second before deciding not to chase it off and instead turning his attention back to Lily. He stepped around to fall into step beside her.

"You want me to carry that?" he nodded towards the bag she was holding before gesturing towards the play area. "Might as well head over that way." There was a place where they could entertain the sprog there. Plus he was pretty sure you could buy more coffee, which was good seeing as the effects of mug Remus had tried to confiscate from him were rapidly wearing off.

"I don't know, maybe just us three and James Sirius." She may use to be quite willing to spend a lot of time with people but recently she wanted to keep to herself. It was strange how things were ever since she lost James. She wanted him back and until then she was likely to stay to herself and occasionally the boys. She gave Sirius a small smile, handing him the bag over and pushing the empty stroller toward the play area he had pointed out.

"I'm sure he would love some time with his uncles." And she also knew that it would make her happy for him to have some time with some males. She had to try and hide the sadness in her eyes.

"I think that might be a good idea," Remus said in response to Lily's suggestion of a small get together for Luke's birthday instead of a big party. If James were there then that would certainly be another story, but he understood completely why Lily preferred not to have a big party, "I think James Sirius would enjoy that as well. I feel bad that his cousin was sent home." Remus knew that it wasn't easy when almost everyone you knew was gone and you were the only one left.

Remus smiled at Luke as they walked then at Lily, "Are you sure you feel safe leaving him in Sirius' care? I know I'm more than trustworthy, but even with me around, Sirius still manages to get into some sort of trouble," He glanced at Sirius, smirking, showing that he was only teasing, not that he thought that Sirius would get offended or anything, but he could never be too sure.

"Oh, ha ha." Sirius grinned and reached out absently to flick Remus' ear, not quite hard enough to cause him any real pain or upset the baby. But if he insisted on taking the piss, he was going to get a flicked ear. That was how things worked in Sirius-land. "I am so responsible it's ridiculous. I'm like a responsible person living on responsible lane. Responsibly."

"Yes, I do too." Besides he was her grandson and as weird as that was sometimes, she wanted to help and look after him. She valued her family and that meant doing whatever she could to help them whenever she had the chance. Even if it meant going out of her way. But inviting her grandson to a small get together was not exactly difficult. It would be nice she guessed. Luke deserved something nice for his first birthday.

"Sirius you are the least responsible person I have ever known." That was an exaggeration but she needed the light relief that came with taking the piss out of Sirius. Even if her smile was still not quite reaching her eyes.

"If I am not the only one who thinks it than it must be true." Remus said, the ghost of a smirk upon his lips as he tried to duck away from being flicked while at the same time, keeping a firm hold on Luke, who was tugging at the collar of Remus' shirt. "For one thing, if you were responsible than you wouldn't have used my books to make a fort." Yes, he was still sore about that. Books were Remus' equivalent to Sirius' bike and Remus knew how upset Sirius could get if someone messed with his bike.

Sirius did a very good job of tossing his hair, although his feigned look of indignation didn't quite meet his eyes, which were crinkled at the edges with amusement. He could deal with teasing from his friends, after all, even if his understanding didn't always stretch out into people he didn't like too much. "Well," he scoffed, "I can tell when I'm not wanted."

And he twisted, turned, and changed into a giant black dog that bounded off to chase the pigeon that had been winding him up a few minutes ago. Ever since the whole Azkaban business, Sirius had found himself with even more of an urge to run around and chase things than he had before. And it had been one of his favourite things to do to start with. Quite frankly, it was a surprise he ever stood still at all.

Padfoot returned a moment later, giving the back of Lily's hand a quick lick before bracing his paws against Remus' hip and propping himself up on his hind legs against him, putting his face close to the baby's.

"That is being responsible in his eyes."

But when Sirius brushed them off, she rolled her eyes and laughed with another fond shake of her head. But then Padfoot was in his place and soon left their side. She was fine with that of course it wasn't like he could get into any trouble they couldn't apologise for. People would just think him a normal hyperactive dog.

"He just can't help it can he?"

Of course, that was also said fondly. She adored Sirius with everything she had and despite him annoying her from time to time she would never dislike him. She smiled at the lick, looking down at him and giving him the briefest of pets. But as he lifted himself up to come close to Luke she barely flinched. She trusted Sirius in both human and dog form not to hurt him and as her son lit up, clapping his hands and babbling in baby talk with the added giggle, she most definitely couldn't argue.
