Sookie couldn't help but feel exhausted. Dean had been nice enough and she had been glad for the chance to get away from the watchful eye of a certain possessive vampire. But after weeks of being in a new place with people she didn't know, she was just ready to be in a space she could call her own.

Her feet ached as she climbed the last of the stairs up to her floor. Wearily, she opened the door to 609. She didn't even bother to turn on the lights as she made her way across the room and fell flat faced onto her bed.

Eric didn't hesitate when he was able to leave Damon's side and return to his own room. He had arrived in the apartment before Sookie. Perhaps she hadn't discovered that the spell had lifted but he wasn't going to miss out on an opportunity if it was presented to him.

Going into his room first, he stripped off his shirt, leaving just a pair of track pants on as he let himself into Sookie's room and stretched out on her bed. It wasn't long before he heard the telepath open the door. Waiting quietly, he did not announce his presence until after she had collapsed onto her bed when he rolled over, running his finger down her back. "Welcome home, my lover."

Sookie jumped as she felt something run along her spine, which caused her to fall off the bed. As she scrambled to turn on the lamp, she could feel her heart thudding loudly within her chest.

"Jesus Christ! Shepherd of Judea, Eric!"

She closed her eyes as the light illuminated the dark room and once she opened them once more, she saw him. Eric was sprawled out on the bed.. on her bed. As if he belonged there.

"Don't you have a bed of your own?"

She could feel the anger within her begin to boil. One quiet night. One peaceful night to be alone. That's all she had wanted.

Eric raised his eyebrow as Sookie jumped clear off of the bed, her racing heart doing nothing but infusing the room quicker with her scent.

Looking at her from where he was lying on her bed, he slid off of her bed, going over to her and offering his hand to help her to her feet.

"I do have a bed of my own but yours is much more comfortable." He smirked. "I wanted to see you. Is that such a bad thing? I didn't mean to startle you."

Sookie smacked away Eric's hand and helped herself off of the ground. She wasn't interested in his help and furious that he still continues to assume he has a right to claim whatever he wants.

"You should have thought about that before you helped yourself into my bedroom."

She rubbed at her hip. She had a sinking feeling she was going to have a bruise, but didn't want to allow him the knowledge of knowing she was even slightly hurt.

"What do you want, Eric?"

Eric watched as Sookie picked herself up off of the ground. He could tell that her temper was starting rise. He watched as she rubbed at the hip that she had landed on.

"I do apologize for startling you Sookie. I wanted to ensure that you were okay. We just arrived here and next thing we know, we are tied to someone by some unknown force. Was this Dean Winchester pleasant to you? He didn't hurt you did he?"

Eric sat down on the edge of the bed, glancing at Sookie. "It's my business because I care about you. We both knew nothing about this Dean character. He could have been anyone. Not being able to freely be available should you have asked for help did not sit well with me."

Eric didn't exactly mind his time with Damon. Damon wasn't the worst person to be stuck with. If anything, he was fortunate to be stuck with a fellow vampire who understood Eric's limitations.

Eric studied Sookie. He wished that he could remember the time that he had spent with her under the witch's spell.

Sookie's eyes narrowed at him. Who did he think he was? He certainly never attempted to try and establish a relationship. At least Bill had attempted to be a boyfriend.

No, all Eric had ever done since she had met him was try to force her to be his. She hated the way vampires claimed ~~something~~ someone as theirs. As if she were a piece of real estate that could be bought or sold.

"I know more about Dean than I care to know, Eric. I'm not completely ignorant or incapable of looking out for myself, ya know?"

Eric moved so that he was stretched out on Sookie's bed again and took it upon himself to get comfortable again.

"I didn't mean that you could not take care of yourself Sookie. I know you are capable of looking after yourself but I also know that you often rush into situations and find yourself in over your head." Eric looked at her for a moment. He did know that Sookie's motivation to get herself into trouble is because she was trying to protect her family or friend and Eric respected that.

"Is it that hard to believe that I care about you Sookie?"

"Whether you choose to believe it or not, I do care about you and as much as you don't want to admit it, I can tell that you care for me." Eric paused for a few moments.
