Who: Regulus Black and OPEN
What: Becoming reacquainted with the 'living'
When: Today
Where: In front of the Grand Library
Rating/Warnings: Swearing, TBD
Status: In progress, open

"What-?!" Regulus managed before he was dropped unceremoniously at the top of the stone steps leading down into what, at Regulus' first, minimal glance told him, was a rather desolate city. Regulus started to scramble up when one of the suits of armor extended his arm towards Regulus, offering some small device. Regulus, having never seen this obviously muggle thing before, stared blankly at it, though he soon caught on that the suit of armor wanted him to accept the device, and upon Regulus doing so the suit promptly straightened, turned about face and marched back to the building.

"Hey! Wait! What just happened!?" Regulus, device forgotten the moment it touched his hand and left on the steps, had reached his feet and was chasing after the suits now filing into the building. But Regulus wasn't quick enough and the doors closed before Regulus could reach them. He tried the handle, tugging furiously, but the doors wouldn't budge.

"Hey!" he shouted in vain, the sound echoed behind him through the city. He gave up after a few more tugs, a couple poundings of the fist, and one kick to the door.

Now, resigned to the fact that he could not get back into the building he woken up in, Regulus, hand scrubbing through his hair, turned to survey his situation. He was drenched, his soaking clothes had been the first then he'd noticed when he woke up, and that fit perfectly with his last memory of being held under water by cold, dead hands. And he was in an apparently empty city, though some sounds in the distance hinted at otherwise. He wondered, briefly if this was Hell, but he didn't believe in Hell so much as he thought he would simply cease to be upon death. But he could accept Hell, if he had to go on existing after dying.

"Hello?!" he called, wondering if this was a Personal Hell, or something he would be sharing with other eternally damned. When that gave him no result he walked over to the device on the ground and picked it up for further inspection, the idea being this was his only unexplored option in his immediate vicinity.

Some light flashed, blinked for a moment then remained steady. And then something peculiar happened, the numbers 201D came up, and a map stating he was... somewhere, with a course plotted and the number next to a red dot, a final destination. Regulus was hesitant to accept this.

"Hello?!" he tried again, looking up from the device and scanning the area, with a city looking this used, with automobiles and trash, and odd sounds somewhere beyond, someone else had to be around.

Regulus accepted the drink from Scorpius with a nod and then proceeded to try to down the thing in one go. He was interrupted by the sensation of his clothes being dried, not something he was expecting while drinking. His protest died somewhere in his cough and as the water sloshed back in the cup. He wanted to be upset at that, but really, he was dry and he was a bit weary to be throwing a snit over something he wanted anyway.

He didn't try to cover that slip, instead he just focused on his cup, doing so grounded him. Besides, after hearing about a Potter being sorted into Slytherin could there really be much more these two, bickering like a married couple, could surprise him with.

Oh, but surprise him, again, they did.

"What?" his head shot up, dark eyes wide, and face blanching considerably, even for pale Black skin. "What do you know I've done?" He gripped at the cup with both hands now, so tight his fingers made noise at they rubbed over the glass.

Scorpius was really trying not to groan. Overloading someone really wasn't going to help in this situation, but there wasn't really any way to take any of it back now. Sitting down in one of the chairs across from the sofa, Scorpius propped his head on his elbow and peered over at Regulus, "When we come from, Voldemort's dead. Partly because of your actions in stealing one of his horcruxes," Scorpius said before looking up at Albus. He wasn't exactly comfortable talking about this. It was a topic that had been mostly avoided in his home other than the few scant details that he'd been given.

"And I have plenty of room to talk," Scorpius said, quirking an eyebrow at him. "I'm still a Malfoy when all is said and done. Slytherin seventeen generations running. We don't get contaminated," He said with a wink, hoping to lessen the tension in the room a bit. Even if didn't really help him.

Al let Scorpius explain, internally wincing a bit at the 'Voldemort's dead' proclamation. He really felt he could've eased him into that a bit even if it got the explanation out of the way quickly. Dropping into the other chair, he merely stared at his friend for a moment when he began tooting his own Malfoy horn.

He was tempted to say something but opted against it. Bickering back and forth even jokingly could only be carried so far. So he let his friend have his moment and looked to Regulus. Studying the man for a long moment, he finally said simply, "My dad's the one who defeated Voldemort and, after Kreacher told him what you'd done, he made certain, back home, that others knew you played a part in it all in your own way."

Regulus closed his eyes, and scrubbed at them again. When he opened them, he thought, they would all be gone, he would wake up... or not wake up as he was sure he was supposed to be dead, but this would be over none the less. Maybe this was all some kind of dream his brain concocted to cope with the lack of oxygen. Yes this was an oxygen deprivation hillucination!

He opened his eyes and was disappointed.

This was why he'd ordered Kreacher to not tell anyone what he'd done, well that and he wanted Kreacher safe and have time to destroy the horcurx. He wasn't some kind of hero, dammit. He'd done it because it was the most effective thing he could do under the circumstances, not to be famous. To him it almost cheapened what he'd done.

"I didn't do it to be- just don't-" he was struggling with what to say to them that would put the matter to rest, "just stop looking at me like I'm some kind of- just like that, no more 'honors' or whatever."

He tried taking another drink, thinking that would help calm him down, it didn't. He then tried rubbing at his temples, which at least worked to keep his fingers occupied. "So you're father," Regulus tried to recall if Al had mentioned his father's name, normally he wasn't this bad with facts but there was a lot bouncing around in his head at the moment, "you father destroyed... Him." He couldn't bring himself to say the Dark Lord's name, he wasn't ready for that yet.
