That was eons ago. Humanity hadn't even fallen yet.

I know. Castiel will get there eventually, as well. Help him. By all means, tease him some if you must, but assist him. He can certainly use the guidance and Aziraphale can only do so much without Crowley's influence as well.

That's not necessarily the worst thing in the world. It's certainly allowed Aziraphale to relax the last few millenia.

Yes but ultimately Crowley is a demon and, as such, I am only willing to extend a small amount of trust in his direction. Besides which, Castiel has a great deal of work laid out before him whereas Aziraphale has earned his right to rest for the time being.

Not to mention, I would rather Crowley not cause any others to saunter vaguely downward as he was wont to do.

Point. He is quite good at being persuasive.

He's one of the best. Aside from the influence Bartleby had over Loki, there are few who can convince others to do things they shouldn't as Crowley can.

Still. He has proven his usefulness and Lucifer is scarcely pleased with him so I will allow him some influence over Castiel. I simply do not wish for it to be the only influence our young friend receives.

Loki never did have much of a brain of his own, you know. That was the issue with that pair. Shame that by the time he finally did get it in his head to tell him no, it was too late.

Obviously. Getting him to loosen up and convincing him to fling himself head long into perdition are two completely different things.

It was all a shame. Fortunately it's been dealt with and can't trouble us again.

Yes, they are, although Crowley would certainly argue that point diligently if given half the opportunity. Fortunately, Aziraphale keeps him in line for the most part. Otherwise, I would have had to deal far more severely with him ages ago.
