These citizens are a nuisance to me with the way they are acting. Should they set foot in the park from Heaven and try to ruin it, I will strike them down.

All I know comes from Marie's memories. I suppose you would know her as Rogue, but I prefer to use her given name.

From what I can tell, as memories are a complicated thing, Jean developed the Phoenix persona as something of a split personality to cope with all the power she possessed. Apparently, she killed both Scott and myself and nearly caused a great deal of destruction before she finally asked Logan to kill her.

That's horrible. But that's not what happened to my mom. She was dying to save the X-Men, but when she should've died, she touched the cosmos. She became Phoenix. Not some persona or some coping mechanism. The Hellfire Club corrupted her power, though, and things got really bad.

There was a different outcome in the other reality. Mine, she got it under control and married my dad and had me. She would never kill Dad! Never! Or you! In the other reality, she killed herself so she wouldn't hurt anyone else!

See, this is part of why I took it on, so the name could mean something GOOD again. People forget the amazing things Mom did, and how she saved the entire universe, and instead just remember the bad.
