Hello! I'm Melly and I noticed your ad when browsing around one day and would love to join the game since yesss Dragon Age. I have a character in mind for this and I'm working on the app now. Just trying to hammer out a lot of the details here and hopefully get some connections for him brewing.

Eldrin 'Ellie' Desrochers. | Human; Bodyguard. | Rogue; Duelist.

Around in his mid-thirties, 6'2. Bright red hair and green eyes. Freckled complexion and wears humble enough clothes in earthy tones to blend in better to the background. Always sporting an easygoing and/or arrogant smile on his face.

Ellie is from Markham; Free Marches. He was born into a rather low-born family but struck great luck when he was mentored by a great independent thief/rogue who noticed his sleight of hand tricks and pickpocketing one day when he was trying to earn himself some coin for the family. Spent years learning under the man and being his protege but the two had as a nasty row over something and broke off their partnership. He later made his way to Orlais after his beloved little sister was stolen into the night when he was out gambling and drinking and felt like he had no right to be in the Marches anymore for his failures of protecting her.

After getting to Orlais, he entered into the services of an Orlesian family who are surprisingly nice-ish nobles despite being participants of the political games since they bother to try to not drag unwitting or unwilling participants into their machinations. The head of the family was supposedly assassinated by an outside force some months back and, in concern, the mother sent her eldest son and her eldest daughter to Cumberland under new identities. This is apparently to protect them since they have some distant relatives living there who can keep them safe while their mother susses out what happened. Ellie offered himself up for the travels to Cumberland and to be a bodyguard for the daughter because his skills could be of use there.

POTENTIAL LINES:
I would love for him to make friends, enemies, and things like that! People from Orlais can recognise him as from being there if they've been around the last five-ish years, more or less. I would love for him to be friends with mages would be interesting since he'll pester them endlessly about ridiculous questions or scenarios - if you can control blood, does that mean you can control whether or not a nosebleed can be bad or not? - and such. I think it'll even be funnier if he could be friends with one of the Templars or a noble character due to his cheeky/vice-loving personality. In return he'll be surprisingly loyal to people he calls friends or, at the very least, be willing to keep his end of the bargain.

… Also I'm not gonna lie: I would love if someone would be interested enough to pick up the eldest daughter, the noblewoman he's been pining for since forever and a half after meeting her around five years ago. Whether she genuinely loves him or is planning to manipulate him for her own benefits can be up for the person but yes. Already have a face and some details of her in mind but those details can be hashed out and are easily changeable for the player's interests/whims.

Hi there! I'm Vicki and I've got two kiddos:

Midha Aenoch (

cloudgazer) is a 30-year-old dwarven Grey Warden who used to run with the Carta and other criminal gangs in the Free Marches. She's all about the drinking and gambling, so she could have run into him during her travels? It doesn't sound like he traveled much outside of Markham until after he left the Free Marches, but since when she was in the Carta she was a smuggler, very likely she wound up in Markham a few times! About nine years ago she became dead to the Carta, so she didn't really go too much outside of Kirkwall and Starkhaven, but there's a time period at the 7 years ago mark where she traveled between Kirkwall to Starkhaven and could have possibly detoured to Markham maybe? Otherwise, I think that if he still gambles and drinks, they could meet in Cumberland and would probably be friends, from the sounds of it! She only does superficial friendships due to her lifetime of crime (she finds that forming Real Bonds is a Bad Idea for many reasons), but she's a friendly person who loves fun (and hates being a Warden lmao oops but her coping method atm is just to pretend like it's not a thing and ignore the problem).

My other character is this guy, Sorin Ghrian, a 25-year-old City Elf who is probably way too happy considering his life circumstances (elf in human world, amputated right arm due to systematic racism, etc) but being happy is also his coping mechanism for the hardships of life. He's also a naive little cinnamon roll. He works at a high-end clothing store called Brouillard's Clothiers in the marketplace, trains in swordsmanship on the down-low with someone who has/had Orlesian noble connects (though Sorin himself doesn't know this, he only suspects that he's Orlesian based on his accent when he's not trying to mask it), and can otherwise be found window-shopping in the marketplace (mostly at clothes) or in elf-friendly taverns NOT drinking or gambling since he hates alcohol and would rather spend what little extra spending money he has on clothes BUT is usually there because he likes people, particularly people who aren't racist assholes. ;;; Maybe they can run into each other at some point, idk, but the family Ellie works for would know Sorin's mentor and would probably be aware of the scandal he left behind, idk if Ellie would too but we can discuss!

I am slow please forgive me!!! I was working hard on the app of mine and I keep getting distracted because I keep staring at some of the wanted ads that have caught my attention haha…

But anyways: I would love for Ellie to know both Midha and Sorin! Especially Midha since they have a stronger chance of running into each other due to her smuggling days and her travelling out to the Free Marches in the past. Maybe he could have helped her out if she had a smuggling gig at Markham and he got some money in return for/just felt like helping her out on a whim because why not. Them being superficial/casual friends would work perfectly for Ellie and I can definitely see him calling her up to join him in the pub or something to have a round of gambling/drinking at a place he knows of!

Sorin would also be a neat person for Ellie to know thanks to his Orlesian connection. Ellie isn't racist or mean at all, just really flippant and blasé, so don't worry about Ellie being mean Sorin I swear. ; ; If you want, Sorin's mentor and the scandal would definitely be someone and something the Hartseeker family would know about! Ellie might have a vague idea of it but try not to judge because it's not like he has a clean reputation/name to himself soooooo no throwing stones from his glass home.

I'm really excited to play too! I'm so excited because aaaah it's Dragon Age and everyone in the game looks amazing!

Hey there! I'm one of the modlies around these parts, Maaya. Ellie sounds fun! Thoughts:

This girl, Noëlle, is a bard from Orlais and has a good memory for faces, she would recognize him! Can be friendly with the noblewoman if you like, as she's a noble herself, if a slightly.... unconventional one (father got elevated due to unnamed "services to the crown," so she's NOT old money).

Cas (

unfavored) is a necromancer mage who would be one step away from royal if not for that pesky magic thing, whoops. Instead he's a Warden. Which he doesn't love, but #toolatetochangecareers. He enjoys philosophizing about magic so he might be good for those chats??? He also has a fondness for taverns (he drinks with dwarves a lot ahahahaha) so plenty of ways to meet.

I'm also playing Narazda (

deshyr), head of the local Merchants' Guild, I can't think of an easy connect there buuuuuuuuut...

Come and hold your PB and get that app in! We can definitely get you some lines~

Heya Maaya! I'm glad you like Ellie because I'm so nervous for him because I'm trying to make sure his app sounds both reasonable and interesting. ; ; I'm planning to hold for one more week to finish some tweaks but I'm definitely apping!

A bard! Yes! He would definitely be happy to be recognised her and even be friendly to her in return. Definitely run his mouth and tell her all the interesting gossip/things he's heard. I would love for Noëlle to know more about the noblewoman so if that's an angle you're interested in, I can give you some more details I have in mind of her so Noëlle has an idea what she's like. (But spoilers: She would be super interested in Noëlle due to her unconventiatonalness (that is definitely a word) and the fact she's not old money.)

And ooooh Cas sounds super interesting! I love the idea of Cas and Ellie chatting each other up at taverns with Ellie asking all sorts of questions relating to necromancy if you're up for that. Like… Can you make them dance?? Nothing elaborate but they can do a little step right??

I'm sure he'll run into Narazda sooner or later since Sir and Lady Hartseeker will be trying to make contact with the Guild to see if they can get any products relating to Ander artisans. Ellie would be with them to make sure they're both safe since undercover and all and maybe that's how they meet? Would love to hear your thoughts because I'm so excited to app in yessss. ; ;

No nerves, only excitement! We're all going to embrace you when you join, just you watch. It's that kind of crew (and as a mod I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with the player base).

And whatever you want with Narazda, I am game! Due to her age and her kind of particular social situation, she's slower to integrate with other characters than my other duo, so I welcome anything and everything!

Hi, I'm Milli. I only joined up yesterday, so I only have this one kiddo at the moment, although another's nearly finished and both might have lines with Ellie. Skalah (this journal) is an Avvar Grey Warden Mage and griffon rider. His questions would probably get a fair amount of 'seriously, did you really just ask me that?' from her, but she'd be amused. Also, he's Orlesian but not covered in frills and nifty hats and masks, so that's cool by her standards.

the_threnodies should be tapped by the end of the day, and might fit for Ellie's Templar friend. He's a 6'5 cinnamon roll who's very good at his job and tries to meet the stoic, dutiful, chivalrous image of an ideal knight, but he's actually mouthy, sarcastic and waaaay too into vice, himself. He's also a noble/half elven bastard, so there's that. I actually have a wanted plotline listing for a shit-starting friend for him. Feel free to grab me if interested!

Hi Milli! I saw your comment for Skalah and I love her so much! It would be neat if she and Ellie got to meet up and just hang around. He would be interested by her profession of griffon rider since he doesn't know how to do that himself and would be happy she thinks his lack of Orlesian items is cool. He tries to not go with the flow huff huff.

And yesssss I love the idea of Cormac and Ellie being friends. They can be tall buddies and I would be so interested in having Ellie be the shit-starting friend because I can see him get in trouble and then run off to find Cormac for help. At least in return Ellie will also be helpful to Cormac in return and see if there's anything his rogue ways could help his Templar buddy? The least he can do!
