Hello all! I'm Milli. I have two concepts in the works. I'd love to have some attachments / complications before they’re apped to polish them up and get an idea of who they ought to know, etc. Plotlines not restricted to those listed. All welcome! I'm also happy to have either of them fill pre-existing plot lines as fitting. Apologies for length. I'm horrible at brevity with these things. >.<

SKALAH "STORM-WINGS" FREYASDOTTEN - Human Mage | Knight Enchanter | Grey Warden Griffon Rider [info]stormwings
Half a life of conscripted service with the Wardens has softened her gritty Avvar edges. Even though forced, she took her oath to the Grey very seriously. Adherence to an oath is a matter of pride, honor and self-respect, and she has all that in spades. Respect for lowlanders? Still not readily, but it does happen with time on an individual basis. She scouts for new blood for the Wardens by day. If she’s out of the barracks at night, she’s typically found in a tavern or in the stables grooming and singing old hymnals to the mounts to keep her nightmares at bay. She'll absolutely fight you for it if you try to tell her that's silly. Skalah is a devout follower of the Avvar Gods but is intrigued by other faiths. Andraste was Avvar/Alamarri, after all. Religion is a big deal for her. Her thoughts about Templars are complicated; she both dislikes them for what they stand for and how she and other mages are effected, but appreciates their military prowess and devotion to their code. She earned her Honor-Mark name in a characteristically ballsy, “who wants to live forever?” adrenaline junkie fashion just a few years ago, so she’ll find easy camaraderie among those with similar proclivities.
PLOTS: Grey Wardens new and old, potential recruits and conscripts, Templars to dislike or (surprise!) not, A noble to knock heads with, city elves to rile up about why they continue to accept shame and servitude, drinking buddies, roll-in-the-hay buddies (warden life is too short, m’kay?) and I'd particularly like her to have a local mage friend to trade magical goodness with and further develop her Magic vs. Political opinions. The more complex the situation, the better.
SER CORMAC MARTIN - Human Warrior | Templar and Guardian [info]the_threnodies A half-elven Van Markham bastard pawned off to one of the family's human servants to rear as her own in exchange for a raise, Cormac grew up knowing that he was a burden. Even if he hadn't been a fairly tender-hearted kid, that would have stung. He has over-compensated for most of his life, which has yielded a track record of selflessness, Herculean levels of devotion to whichever tasks he undertakes and a near monklike capacity for self-denial as an adult. Being good all the time is exhausting, though. His frustration sometimes boils over in mouthiness, black sarcasm and occasional dishonesty, a thinly-veiled skepticism of the Maker, and a steadily escalating lyrium addiction he’s trying to hide. He’s had fair success so far. That may not last if he keeps sneaking off to shady Carta establishments in his off-duty leave hours to score blackmarket takes. Cormac has been a Templar for ten years. Despite the hang ups, he’s actually very good at his job and believes in the Templars’ purpose, even if he doubts the Maker’s involvement. He doesn't think of Mages as lesser people, even the elves, whom he sympathizes with more than most. Fire magic puts him on edge more than the other accepted specialities. In short; jolly green giant lyrium-tweaked Templar, noble dirty secret, two-handed warrior, agnostic-in-Templars-clothing, actually a horribly repressed cinnamon roll.
PLOTS: Templar frands and rivals, a local city kid he grew up with, circle mages he gets along with, one in particular whom he clashes with for undecided reasons, some local thugs and greased palms he may have grown up with in the lower class slums and has tried to shake off with mixed results, Carta or blackmarket smugglers with lyrium hookups, nobles who may know or have heard rumors about who he is. Bonus points if he can be used as a pawn in any meaty vendettas or blackmail plots at some point, etc.

HIIIIIIIIIIIIII. I'm Sherri. :D I've got three at the moment, but.

For Ser Cormac, PLEASE TO BE MEETING OZ (this journal), YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD CARTA DWARF. :D Also, Isolde ([info]dirigo) says hay Cormac, haaaaaaaay. :D She is totally interested in rumors, man. So interested.

Also, Oz is totally down to be bed buddies with Skalah. Because let's be real, Oz likes sex. XD

I... can't think of anything for Shae ([info]notmycircus) at the moment, but.

Haaaay. Nice to meet you, Sherri. I hope I can figure something out for Shae, because she looks like a blast.

For Oz - Skalah is 100% okay with this. Sexy eyes + sexy attitude = winning combo for funtimes. More importantly for Cormac, YES PLEZ. He'd be a good customer, but might have a few under-the-table deals going on in the city so he doesn't bring too much attention from a single place. And because honestly, it's becoming enough of a problem that he worries about what would happen if a single supply line dried up. #addictindenial

Isolde - Hay purty lady. Skalah dislikes her, badass shiny cane and all. Although I get the feeling she couldn't be bothered to care about that at all. Power to her. But Skalah's still like that. As for Cormac, he's definitely not keen to add to the rumor pool himself, but messes like that are so hard to control.

Shae is my hardest character to connect. SIGH.

Oz - Yes, good. :D Oz's plan to sleep through the wardens continues! :D :D :D Oz will sell to you Cormac, but he shakes his head at you, man.

Isolde - It's okay, Skalah. Isolde doesn't think much of you at all. :D LMAO Poor Cormac. Too bad. She at least won't spread the rumors? You know, to anyone but her cousin. Who is a mage. :D

Ah, that's such a bummer. :/

He deserves some serious head shakes, for real. Also, fantastic game plan. Definitely a winner for tavern boasting. :D

Oh my goodness, that'd be awful (eh hem - AMAZING) if it got out through the mages somehow. Ouch!!! Isolde may have already gotten the scoop on all of her family's scandalous dirty laundry though, no?

Tis the type of character she is. I do this in every game and I constantly kick myself. Whoops.

Oz can provide those head shakes. He doesn't understand lyrium addiction, but then he's a dwarf, so.... And Oz thinks it's the best game plan, tbh. A gentleman doesn't boast. It's one of his weird quirks. XD;

LOL I'm not sure she'd try to get it to the mages unless he really ticked her off, then she'd express her concern to her dear cousin. And maybe the Knight Commander. :| Possibly, tbh. But whether she remembers is another matter entirely.

Hi there! I'm Vicki and I have the two~

Midha is a Grey Warden AND ex-Carta (been "dead" to them for ~9 years though) who smuggled lyrium, SO. I can throw her at both of them?? Skalah absolutely for sure, we'll need to check on the timelines for Cormac, but. Definite possibilities!!

I also just brought in a City Elf, Sorin ([info]sunnyelf), who Skalah can try to rile up but he's a happy sort? Of course things will change for him VERY quickly but he's a bb so he'll still try to retain his upbeat personality through it all and Skalah can just be like DUDE. As for Cormac..... Well, Sorin's lived in Cumberland his whole life BUT also didn't step foot out of the Alienage until he was like 16?? This one may be trickier but we can certainly discuss!!!!!

Hi Vicki. :)

First, Lucy Lawless as a dwarf makes my day a little. I luff her longtime. Skalah is all about being frands, if they click. She's a little feral, but a lot of fun and 110% hoo-rah level dedicated to fellow Wardens. Cormac would have been looking for blackmarket lyrium only within the last year or two, so she'd have been operating before his time.

Skalah is ALL about corrupting Sorin's sunny happy self. Challenge, accepted!

Lucy Lawless is flawless, lbr <3

Midha has nothing against feral at all, and probably finds that super intriguing about Skalah. Maybe tried to get into her pants, don't know if she would've been successful or not but wouldn't have minded if she wasn't. She doesn't do Real Relationships, platonic or romantic, buuuuuuuuuut if she cooperates with me, she'll learn about True Friendship which will probably help her out BIG TIME in finally accepting her role as a Warden, kekekeke. (She's been a Warden for 2 years but hasn't really coped with it well. Lately she's just trying to ignore the problem as best as she can, but she used to be a rage demon about it.) So hopefully they do click!! And yeah, sounds like Cormac and Midha wouldn't have crossed paths, but I'm sure we can find some way to connect them!!

AND YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

She absolutely is!

So Skalah is one of those thoroughly convinced that sex for pleasure alone is A+ okay and healthy and awesome, and anyone can make anyone else feel pretty damned good, regardless of race gender, etc. SO. If Midha wanted in her pants, she's probably been there. Friend-clicky or not. But we should see about that sometime! Adjusting to warden life is rough. Skalah started super young, and isn't sure if that was a help or a hindrance getting used to it, but she definitely gets it.

DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE. These concepts are just so freaking shiny. 😍

For Skalah, I have Cas ([info]unfavored) who's also a mage! He's been a warden for 6 years. Bonds forged in blood are A++ for him - if they've fought together, she is his BRO. If they've slept together he.... probably fell a little in love with her, which would likely not suit her very much (if I am reading her right) but they could have parted on decent terms. He'd still guard her back. Also he loves the griffons though he isn't bonded to one. So your job is COOL, Skalah. For noble types, I have Noëlle (this jounal) who is all about politicking and pretty clothes and..... okay stabbing people too, but she keeps that on the downlow. Feel free to dislike her. Narazda ([info]deshyr) is the local Merchants' Guild ehad so... probably no connect for Skalah? For Cormac, on the other hand...

Narazda has connects in the lyrium trade, so, you know. Also, cas was in the Circle until 6 eyars ago, there was one pretty scandalous incident with him raising a zombie and setting it loose (whoooops) but overall he was on good terms with the templars sooooooooooooo bring on whatever dynamic suits you? Noe is verrrrrrry interested in noble rumors. 😇

Ah thank you! <3 :D I'm super mucho excited about the game.

I would love to have some meaty backstory with another warden, if you're game! I can't imagine how they wouldn't have fought together at this point, so we can just consider them bros? Also, you read her right, she's not all butterfly lashes and secretly reading smutty literature ALA Cassandra, but she's not anti-love. Love for her in this setting is just a massively ill-timed inconvenience that's also kinda cute and terrifying. Like having a puppy in trench warfare. Tensions and awkwardness would have ensued in a big way, then avoidance, then just shelving it like a big kid because oh right, Blights and things. Cas looks great, regardless. And necromancy isn't all scary to her people, so rock on with your zombie raising talent, bud! She's impressed. Also yes, her job is fantastic, she agrees. Noe she may or may not get an eye roll or twenty. It's more the attitude than the pretty things she wears.

Cormac would have been around when Cas had his 'uh oh' moment, and probably would have been pissed, but glad he got snatched by the wardens instead of killed. Just stop with the zombie master stuff, yeah? Gross. And evil. And GROSS. But they might have been pal-y before that. He definitely comes to Narazda for a fix now and then. As for Noe, she may get some info out of him, but he's pretty good about not incriminating himself.

I TOO AM VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS GAME. I have wanted to mod a Dragon Age game foreverrrrrrrr.

Okay ABOUT THAT. Cas not so secretly reads that crap. Aloud in the mess hall. He does the voices. That's only if Midha gets him drunk but Midha is good at getting him drunk. He's not even ashamed of that, it's kind of hilarious. Circle mages are pretty sexually liberated, all right? Basically, I am down for former-exes-turned-bros because it got a little ~too intense~ for her taste (Cas is a dumb sap) and now they just blow up darkspawn together. Noe's attitude.... idk, she's not terribly uippity, unless it's a situation where being uppity will get her what she wants. Definitely two-faced though.

Listen, Cormac, LISTEN. It was one. Lousy. Mistake. He was drunk. Drunk happens. He served three months in isolation for it. And now he's Making Good and fighting the Blight. Can't we just let it go???? Narazda doesn't so much peddle it directly but her people know you~ And as for Noe I JUST REALIZED. SHE IS ALSO A HALF-ELF NOBLE PASSING FOR HUMAN. SO. =D

I've wanted to play one for.ev.er. I squeaked. Out loud. That was my level of EXCITE. <3

Okay so Skalah might not love him but I'll take one, because that's fantastic. She'll happily laugh at the readings, however, and cheer Midha for her fantastic drunk-Cas-making skills. It's a public service, apparently! I'm good with the exes-turned-bros. she may actually like Noe. Self-sufficiency and independence in all its forms generally gets a thumbs up from her, even if it involves manipulation.

Okay, bud, keep telling yourself that. Drunkenness happens. Zombies shouldn't happen. Drunkenness AND zombies DEFINITELY shouldn't happen. Ouch on the isolation though, that'd drive him nuts. Possibly quite realistically. Good on the blight fighting though. If Cormac gets kicked out for abusing the lyrium he may be following suite. We shall see! Bad, bad Templar.

Yay Noe! I don't think it's likely they'll ever figure that out about each other (?) even if they have much interaction, but nifty. She's super pretty though, so he wouldn't mind common interaction.

Cas only has one antagonistic ex and he Does Not Want To Talk About It. UGH. Exest-to-bros is great, he's done being sad about it if it was years ago. Now he'll read the ridiculous books to her, too. All for the cause of Warden hilarity. He thinks they could use a few laughs in their line of work. Noe's cool with being liked, too. She's gonna do her thing.

ONE LOUSY MISTAKE, CORMAC GEEZ. But you're welcome to come be Cas' battle comrade in the Wardens, WE HAVE ENOUGH BLIGHT AND DEATH FOR EVERYBODY. Even lyrium-addled templars.

Ahahahahaha he will be firmly in her "not interested" stack unless she realizes he's politically expedient. SHE IS AWFUL. But omg please flirt with her (I keep hoping she'll spark with someone inconvenient so that I can torment the hell out of her). Also, idkkkkk her heritage may come out in awhile, enough that he mayyyyyyyy hear about it, depending on where he's listening and whether they know each other well enough for him to even know who she is.......

Okay so that sounds like a juicy, unfortunate breakup story. But sad Cas is probably a less entertaining Cas, so she'll most definitely be avoiding talk of that. I'm sure she's learned by now. I'm so looking forward to all the warden things! Hopefully Cormac will not be joining, but I'm a sucker for tormenting my kiddos, so who knows.

Yaaaas. Haha! That makes it so much better, though! She's not a Mage, so therefore not solidly in "absolutely cannot flirt" (because he's so good at following Templar rules 0.o) territory. So gainless one-sided flirting will definitely be had. Nope, he's not in the least bit politically helpful, and may potentially be very much the opposite if his parentage gets leaked. So all that could be a laugh. :)

He doesn't talk about it EVER but she could try to pry into his past. Or she could just wait and listen. That whole mess is about to come out in the wash in the next few months. (Cas torture is my favorite hobby.)

Yesssss good, flirt with her PLEASE. The fact that he's political poison makes me extra excited to throw her at him. Because character torment is the best thing about RP.

I should.... go friend your CDJ now. ^o^

Skalah's not the prying sort. She's more the "I sense an emotional wound and those smell like gangrene to me. Do not touch!" But if it does come out organically, she's good for a listen. Character torment is absolutely the most fun thing about RP. I hope that doesn't say anything horrible about RP writers. :D

100% arsenic for those with lofty ambitions. Womp woooomp. Could make for some really entertaining scenarios. I'm really hoping to make his life as crazy and messy as possible in the provided time frame, so very looking forward to seeing what happens. ^.^

Skalah: So, I think she should totally run into Aeren by try to rile up some NPC city elves near her, or even her especially while she's doing a bit of sewing. Because that could be...interesting.

Cormac: So he'd definitely know Sylvaine, and she'd probably feel a bit big sisterly toward him since he's a two handed weapon user. She also has a bit of a "wtf even is my parentage" going on, but with a father of questionable origin. She's Cormac opposite on belief matters, but I think she'd understand why he might question.

Hi! Cat (~potentiaest & ~fadesight) here. Both of your characters look awesome, but I'm getting a lot of plotty thoughts with Cormac. Elspeth is a Chantry sister who spent some of her time working in a sanatarium for lyrium dementia, so she could notice some of the signs in him? Also, Cumberland native & a highborn, so there's a chance for crossed paths there.

With Iveani...well, she's a mage. She's definitely on the strange side, so maybe she's one he has trouble getting a long with? Ooh, or she could be the local mage friend for Skalah! :D

Hay there Cat. :) Thanks, I got Skalah in last night - very excited! Plots with Cormac would be great, if you're interested.

It sounds like he and Elspeth will have a lot of reasons to interact, so that's fun. I'd really love it if someone started picking up on signs that he's declining in a few months, so a big hell yes to that one. How long has Elspeth been with the Chantry? I ask because Cormac was carted off to the Chantry for Templar training very young, and if they're both Cumberland natives, they may have known each other for quite a while. I took a gander at her profile and they're both fairly kind people with a mouthy cynical streak, so I'd guess they either get on very well, or they occupy too much of the same space, so not? Thoughts? I really don't see him not being friends with a foul-mouthed nun/chantry sister.

I think he side-eyes Iveani, though, both because she strange and that concerns him, and because she's Dalish, and that interests him. i can definitely see Skalah liking and befriending her, though. Mage, and someone from an unusual, outside culture that isn't all about what kind of frilly shoes are in style? Check. Bill, please.
