Dobson House Warming Party!
Who: Everyone
Where: Dobson manor
When:Week 4, Saturday, evening
Why: Housewarming party at Dobson manor.
Warning: Social party and getting to know each other, but no other warnings yet.

Tabitha took a deep breath as looked at herself in the mirror. In only a few minutes, her first party here at Beacon hills would begin. She'd spent the better part of the week ensuring the whole manor be washed and decorated properly in reds and gold.

All sorts of foods prepared and laid out beautifully beside an open bar filled with various alcohol and even some blood bags for the visiting vampires. Tabtiha made sure there was no expense forgone, no extravagance missed. This was going to be a party that was not quickly forgotten, she wanted to be sure of it.

Smoothing her hands over her cream colored dress one more time nervously, she stepped out of her room and down the grand staircase to greet her guests.

Buffy could feel herself turning a very indignant shade of red. At the shop. Had they seemed like they'd... She couldn't even think it! That must've been why Ambrose had been so taken aback by it.

"I-it seemed like we-?!" She seemed unable to finish the sentence with words as she went through everything that had happened at the shop. "I don't, I mean. No! Not even! Definitely no!"

"You two just seemed really close is all." She said with a shrug, smiling a little. The man who had been with her must have noticed something too, the way he had been. Of course a lot of men would have probably been possessive if their slave had been struck by a complete stranger.

"So...Your master guy" Evie started, figuring a change of subject would be the best. "He seems decent enough."

"Who knows?" Buffy wondered, rolling her eyes and trying not to seem as effected as she was by everything that was this Daniel/Lucius transition. Part of her wanted to convince herself that he'd never been Daniel, that it had been a lie, and that there wasn't a thing she could do about it. But that would giving up on a friend, and it wasn't in her blood to do that.

And the Ambrose talk was probably inevitable, but it was indeed a welcome change. "Ambr- Master Ambrose. Right. Yeah. He's something alright," she answered, a little smile coming across her face. She didn't know what she would've done in Crescent Hills without him. "He's all kinds of decent. His only notable flaw thus far is pretty having the technological knowledge of a rock."

"He seems like a nice guy, for a master" The girl said kindly. While she generally hated any supernatural creatures for what they thought and did, Evie couldn't deny that this Master Ambrose person seemed different. "It's good to see that not all Supernaturals are evil bastards from hell"

"That was actually a lot harder to deal with than I thought it would be," Buffy admitted, having clearly come from a similar place as Evie. "I expected something really evil coming here. Might've made everything easier because I wanted to hate them all, you know?" She took another long drink to punctuate her thought. "He's the real deal, though. Color me various shades of wrong. You know how they tell you none of the vamps have souls? This one does. One vampire equipped with a fully functioning soul." Clearly she was feeling the effects of being tipsy, though she was thankfully sane enough to whisper it to the other woman in a hushed tone.

Evie nodded, a bit surprised. She had been raised and taught that once a person was turned into a vampire their soul was gone. But she had seen Ambrose and while she didn't know the vampire well at all he didn't seem like the unholy monster the elders of her camp had preached about. Buffy's master was at least ten times better than her own.

"I'm glad. I don't know why, but its better to know that not every one who is purchased in this sick world is mistreated." She mused thoughtfully. Her head was starting to feel a little funny and she could only assume it was the drinks she had been having. If only Miah and her brothers could see her now.

Buffy was quiet for a long minute, nursing the rest of that second drink as she stared down into it.

Not every one who is purchased in this sick world is mistreated.

The words would probably be stuck in her head for a long time to come, particularly because the person Evie had to associate them with was someone very familiar to the Slayer.

"That... mark on your shoulder. I don't wanna get too personal. Tell me if you don't want to talk about it, but... He did that to you, didn't he?" she had to ask quietly, not having wanted to confront that issue directly. She probably already knew the answer, and she had a feeling she wasn't wrong about it, no matter how much she wanted to be.

Evie frowned as Buffy mentioned the scar on her shoulder. She still had yet to look upon the hideous thing. Most of the time she actually pretended it didn't even exist. But she could pretend and imagine all she wanted. It didn't change the fact that the witch had carved into her skin, all for the sake of claiming her as 'his'.

"Yes" The girl answered, not looking up. She didn't want to see the look on the others face at the admission. "Lucius said it was his mark and so here I am sliced up and mutilated for the sake of ownership." Laughing bitterly, she took a drink. "But maybe the bright side it means I wont be passed from monster to monster. I mean, a scar is kind of a permanent mark"

Buffy closed her eyes, letting that one sink in and hating that she'd been right to assume it. Eventually, she tipped the glass back, finishing the rest of her drink before putting her game face back on. She turned back to Evie, looking determined and confident as she reached out to touch the other girl's hand.

"I'll fix this. I promise," she vowed seriously. "I don't know what I'll have to do to fix it, but I will. I won't let him hurt you like that again." She had no idea of she'd be able to hold up that end of the bargain, but she felt the need to promise it regardless to herself as much as to Evie. "I don't know what he's thinking or what's in his head now, but whatever it is. It isn't right."
