"Who knows?" Buffy wondered, rolling her eyes and trying not to seem as effected as she was by everything that was this Daniel/Lucius transition. Part of her wanted to convince herself that he'd never been Daniel, that it had been a lie, and that there wasn't a thing she could do about it. But that would giving up on a friend, and it wasn't in her blood to do that.

And the Ambrose talk was probably inevitable, but it was indeed a welcome change. "Ambr- Master Ambrose. Right. Yeah. He's something alright," she answered, a little smile coming across her face.
