WELCOME TO NOX AETERNA
New York and London, in the year of 2009. The King and the Queen, Enkil and Akasha are dead since many years ago. Of course, it depends on who you ask! For Marius and the other children of the Millenium, it might seem like the blink of an eye.
The lycans exist side by side with the immortals, under the white flag Marius De Romanus and the lycans’ elder Jack “one-eye” Bevan raised together for so many years ago. Each full moon, the lycans gather in Central Park and Hyde Park for their celebrations. No one, except the lycans themselves knows what it is that happens on these occasions and that’s how it is going to be forever and ever.
Our game takes place in London, and New York. However, don’t let this worry you. Nothing stops you from commuting between the two cities.
We are looking for friendly, creative and openminded players who are interested in having fun and making friends while exploring Anne Rice’s universe and making it our own. We are looking for people who love to write about passionate love, drama, lust, angst, anger, and friendship and want to explore all of this together with us.
The eternal night is coming.

Welcome to Harmony. It’s a lovely place, clear blue skies and attractive buildings. It’s funny, but even though all you can remember is this place, it feels like you’ve never been here before.
Why does it feel that way? Well, probably because it’s true. Sssh, don’t tell; this is a giant experiment, one you can’t get out of. We care about you here in Harmony, and you’re very important to us. We hand picked you from your world, because there was just something about you. We know you will be helpful.
It’s important that you feel at home. Almost like you’re not in an experiment at all. So we’re going to give you a new set of family, friends, and memories. Because, don’t forget – we care about you. We want you to feel at home, seeing as from now on, this is your home.

So here’s the gist – your character was plucked from their world, and brought to this one. It’s unclear if it’s an alternate dimension or even a different planet. The place has similar atmosphere and appearances as Earth, but how would you ever know if it was or not? From there, something happened to their memory. It’s not clear how that happened, either. All you know is there is a little scar, on your neck, right below your hairline. Maybe you had it before. Or maybe, it has nothing to do with your memory. You have no idea.
After you were brought here, and your memory erased, a new one was implanted. Some got a new brother or sister, some got new friends, and some even got new spouses or fiancés. It’s weird, really. You feel like you know them so well, and at the same time, like you don’t know them at all. You have a job, and a place to live. You have a memory of going to school at Harmony High, and parents that have died peacefully. You remember every aspect of this place, because after all, you’ve lived here since you were born.
In addition to all that, from time to time, you’ll get a call from the Doctor’s office. You’ll come in, they’ll give you a supposedly harmless shot, and you’ll be on your way. Strange thing is you’ll start to feel really different after you get that shot.
Is it the shot? Or is it something inside you?

Family. Everyone wants one, but not everyone wants the one they have. Some are born alone in the world, some loose what semblance of a family they have through divorce, death, or distance. But not all families are blood relatives. The most curious types of families that come together because of a common attitude, interest, or goals. They find each other because they need the comforts of family and an ideal that will stick them together when other families would crumble apart. The loyalty and devotion to this new family entity becomes so strong in these cases that outsiders don’t quite understand what’s really going on.
After seeing the world around him reject him for what he was, Samuel looked for others like him, others who knew what it was like to be an outcast but no longer wanted that lifestyle for themselves. The family came first, and then the carnival was created so they could live, work, and thrive together. The carnival gave them a way to show off what others found horrifying – their abilities. It isn’t all fun and games though at the carnival – there is hard work and everyone has to do their part, but when you’re family, you do things for others that you might not do on your own.
A commitment to this carnival is a commitment to being in the family. It isn’t always easy to join the family, but it’s even harder to leave. Most never want to though, who would give up the chance of a lifetime – to be wanted, needed even, and be able to truly be themselves? |

The nation was stunned when it was revealed that Graydon Creed killed Professor Charles Xavier on live television to prove he was a mutant. Public outcry against the acts perpetrated by the organization known as the 'Friends of Humanity' allowed several laws to be passed in favor of mutant rights. That was more than a decade ago, in that time the realm of politics has come to an impasse. Amidst the political stalemate there was a heavy push by many parents to have mutant children removed from the school systems, that ended with special schools being set up in most major cities. The Xavier School could no longer provide the necessary post secondary education for mutants. Ororo Munroe, the new head of the School, and Hank McCoy went before the Senate and House and asked that a second school be funded on the West Coast a University for continuing mutant education. Senator Raymond F. Donaldson, a democrat from California and the first mutant on the senate, helped to push the funding through. Thus the Xavier Memorial Institute was born.
XMI is a College Level AU X-Men game set in modern day California. It is meant to be a place where OCs may flourish, new stories can be written and those who have moved to the west coast may begin again. The school grounds, commonly referred to as Mutant Island, house both a university as well as a training facility. It is also the facility which houses the mutant team Legacy. The game is open to mutants age 18+, canon and original characters are both welcome. The game hopes to combine the social and political aspects of life as a mutant with the dangers that come from living in a world where humans, mutants, and things only classified as 'other' coexist.
