Entrance
Brooke missed Angie terribly already. She had been gone for only a few hours now but still she missed her. Missed having to be constantly attentive to another little person, missed the baby laugh, missed not being able to leave anything around...Yes, she even missed the crying. She knew Angie had gotten home fine and she imagined her parents meeting her at the airport, what they would say, how her baby would be happy to see them again. Her baby. God, how she missed her!
And she had loads of toys now which were a constant reminder of what was missing in the house. Sighing, she decided to start putting them away. She wouldn't need them again in a hurry. She found a wooden box while she was piling them up. "I don't remember buying this one" she thought, looking at the puzzle inside. She let all the other stuffed toys fall inside a carton box and went to the table. She just needed to get her mind off of Angie and decided to try working the puzzle out. "Not the best way possible but anyway..." she thought. She worked out and when she put in the last piece she saw a blinding green light. All of a sudden she wasn't in the living room of her house in Tree Hill. She was...somewhere. She didn't know where. All she knew was that whatever that place was, it was pretty cool, especially for a designer: rows and rows of clothes stood there, facing her, while shoes and bags sat on their shelves gazing down at her.
"Wow!" she said, looking around herself amazed.

	"Yeah I'm sure," he said smiling encouragingly at Brooke. "It was a really great thing you did." He noticed the change in Layla and hugged her closer to him. "If you have love and enough to give it to a child, then they should let you have as many children as you can handle and love. So many children go without families, siblings, loving parents, and even if they do have parents or families they aren't always a good set up.I think it is sad they wouldn't give you a child. You sound like you have a lot of love and caring to give. The system is a flawed and terrible thing, I wish they'd get off their tushy's and do something worth while to fix it."

"Thanks" she said to Luke "As for your mom and sister, well, you have a beautiful four-year-old sister named Lily, if you didn't know, and they're great. They're taking a trip around the world now but I saw them not a long time ago" she said. She wondered if she should talk about Andy or not but decided against it for the moment.

Then she turned to Layla "I know, that's what I told the lady who came to interview me to see if I could adopt a baby. But unfortunately I had my young age and my work and my being single against me. And my mother's opinion" she said.

He smiled proudly at Layla as she spoke. He really loved her mind and the way she saw things.

"They are?" he asked smiling, happy that his mom was out and doing something for herself. "That's great."

He looked at Brooke again.

"Ah, your mother," he said. "Explains a lot."

He didn't really know Victoria that well but didn't like her.

"What work are you doing? Let me guess, Clothes over bros is a massive company now?"

She decided to swallow her pride among other things and in this moment to just let go.

"Listen, Brooke, I am so sorry that I seem so off around you and most likely will go off and embarrass myself after I am done here, but here goes. Let me try and explain a little. When I came here, I came here with a very broken heart. I was alone and afraid, it was months of being here with no peers. Then I met Lucas, and we just clicked. He...well he died in my arms, he had a heart attack and then there was an explosion and many of our friends died and I nearly did as well. The Brooke in his timeline and I are on good speaking terms. Still, I get very intimidated...No, no, Bother, that word doesn't express it right. Well, the word eludes me, but the feeling remains. You and he were dating pre-us. There was this girl, named Gwen who really messed with my head and the heads of my friends, but most importantly she messed with my relationship with Will, the only man I ever loved, besides Lucas and even that love doesn't compare. Needless to say, she tried to kill us all in the end. I don;t want to come off as a flighty jerk to someone my husband holds so dear to his heart. The heart I swore to protect. Peyton too made me a bit flaily, but I look at you both and you are both smart, gorgeous, independent women, not saying I am not...I am. I just don't want you to feel off around me...Oh bother! I am botching this all up and I am rambling. I am so not helping."

"You are definitely right, my dear" she smiled to Lucas "Clo's over Bro's is a great company now. I used to live in New York where the main offices are but I just moved back to Tree Hill and opened a shop there" she smiled "And I love it!"

She looked at Layla when she spoke "Ok, now don't worry and calm down" she said soothingly "I am not Here to steal Lucas from you, ok? Neither is Peyton, I am sure. You said you spoke to a different me, one that was still dating him when he got Here and you said you two are on good-speaking terms, right? Well, just consider I come from four years after that. I am not in love with Lucas anymore. He's one of my best friends, I love him very much and, although I'd never let anything smash our friendship, my love for him is only, ONLY, as a friend. Nothing more. I promise. And I'm sorry if my first reaction when I saw him put you off and made you feel bad. I really am. But I'm a bit in an emotional state today because of Angie and everything and Lucas really was great in helping me out with her" she said "I would really like to get to know you, and I'd never do something to make you feel unconfortable around me. Not intentionally" she waited to see if she had made her point clear. The other girl seemed nice and she didn't want to hurt her or anything of the sort "And don't worry about the rambling. I tend to do that too when I'm nervous" she said with a friendly smile.

He listened as they both spoke.

"And I love Brooke too, but like her what I feel for her is only friendship. I am in love with you Layla. You're my girl and I'm your guy. Nothing and nobody is ever gonna change that."

He hugged her close to him for a moment and rested his forehead against hers for a moment, then pulled back looking into her eyes.

"I love you Layla," he said.

	"Well, just so you know everything is free, lodging, clothes, medicine, alcohol...except for certain items that are not that easy to get your hands on. You go to Manny and negotiate a price. "Yeah, sure." She was thinking about how he always mentioned the matters of the heart. She adored that he wanted her to always know it, but she worried about others. People who are in pain and people like Ex-girlfriends and ones that loved him. She wondered why he felt he needed to say it so much. Not that she minded or she was chastising him mentally even. She worried if there was a mental reason why he needed to say it? Was he worried? Was he concerned? She rubbed his arm and leaned up and kissed his chin. "Matters of the heart."

	She smiled at them both, it was really good to see Lucas that happy. She hadn't seen him like this in a very long time. "That's good to know as Owen and I have broken up.
