NET POST: Carlos Reyes
The reality that in some life I could be a dad of a teenage son is outta of this world.

(To TK)

Babe, it would be nice to spend some time with you. It feels like I haven’t seen you in weeks. 🩷

Living some other life was wild.

[Carlos]
I mean...it has been weeks. So, what do you want to do then?

You are correct this island can really mess with you! A date? We weren’t able to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

When did San Fran become an island? I won't say no to a date.

Well okay, not exactly an island but it very well could be. It feels like life goes on no matter the fact that we aren’t supposed to be here (arguably I guess)

You want to go tonight? I found some spots where we could explore.

Well, yeah, life doesn't stop even when we're all being messed with.

Sure! Tonight works for me.

Isn’t that a little sick and twisted? They mess with us and we just have to take it.

I left a list of activities we can do. Want to pick one and I’ll pick the other?

I think that's the point of this.

Sure.

At least you seemed like a good one?

It's already well established we don't really have to apologize for anything, but still...

Yikes.

Thank you. It just seemed funny because I never thought I’d ever be the father type. Guess this proves that maybe it could happen for me.

Thankfully there doesn’t need to be any apologies in order. My husband is going to laugh at how I took my son camping.. there’s two words that I’d never think would come out of my mouth haha.

You had a son and went camping? I wish I could have seen that.

Yeah I did. It was very strange. What were you doing?

Interesting. I still can’t imagine you having one though.

Did having a kid change your mind about having kids?

That’s complicated TK, in someways i loved it and in other ways I’m still not so sure or at least my hesitation hasn’t changed.

You never know. I didn't really expect to be married with two great kids. Life rarely lands you where you think you'll wind up.

Ugh, I sound just like her.

So is my husband, hopefully. And he kissed I think we're going to have to learn to have some grace with each other and ourselves for a while.

I certainly didn’t think I’d end up on in San Francisco let alone in an entirely different scenario. This all sounds bat shit crazy…. But this is the life we are living.

I think we all end up sounding like our parents… that was who you were referring to right?

Yeah Can’t really be mad that we just lived in the situation thrown at us. Still don’t think I’ll go camping any time soon.

This isn't specifically the version I knew, but enough is the same to still make it feel a little bit like home. Fortunately, real-home could also be batshit crazy, so.

Oh, no, more the romcom-mom me. My own mom was great; she was just too busy saving the world to be much of an all-natural, health kick parent like I was.

Same here. No more campfires or log cabins for me for a long, long time.

That’s true, I was a police officer in Austin Texas and while that doesn’t sound too horribly dangerous, it really was.

I’m still not terribly convinced that I could ever take my son camping on a whim. But I did in that version of life.

I think instead I’ll spend time with my husband and celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Maybe I shouldn't tell you about my former part-time career as a vigilante... (legally speaking)

Gotta love the lack of autonomy.

Have a great time. Maybe Scott and I can take you and yours out to dinner at some point.
