I'm fine, but trying to dig myself out of a snowbank was no fun. Currently thawing out on the couch, but the Wasp suit is grounded until I can find a workaround for these extreme temperatures.

I've never really understood New Year's resolutions. They always sound like you're setting yourself up for failure or self-loathing if you don't follow through. But I did pick out a couple of intentions for this coming year. Things I'd like to keep in mind and focus on.

One of them is to keep this lovely girl happy and healthy. Everyone, ( please meet Jinx ).

She's actually been with me for a trial since just before Christmas, but I made it official and adopted her today. I've never had a dog before, so if anyone wants to give me tips, I would appreciate it.

I'm not freaking out, you're freaking out!

After this week, there's only one week left of class. Then we have a week that EVERYONE IS CALLING HELL WEEK!!!!!!!! to study and write and do all the things for finals. Then finals.

I'm freaking out. Completely freaking out. Why do they all think they're the only class I have?! I have so much to do. I'm never gonna get it all done and I'm going to forget everything I learned before taking the finals. And how am I supposed to write two 20 page papers?!

OOoh. Wait. I can make one a graphic novel thing.

Hi! Thanks for tackling the Z-Band fix. I can drop it by after classes and then collect it whenever it’s ready over the weekend, if that’s OK?

It was set at a frequency that calmed my brainwaves perfectly, but I can’t remember which it was. There was some adjustability so I could give myself a more human look when I needed to.

Kate got me thinking. She likes ranch on pizza, but I've never tried it. What other food combinations do you all like?

My ward had a rather important birthday (his 18th, to be precise) during last month's nonsense, and while there are no guarantees everything has completely passed, the celebration of this momentous event should not be forfeited by the mere conceit of a calendar date.

As such, who would care to join me this weekend at a venue and experience of Zed's choosing?

Snacks and drinks are potluck style. Danae and Roderick from 12 are bringing finger sandwiches, and Rorie from 9 said they'd try their hand at a Victoria sponge cake. Edwardian dress is encouraged, but not required.

Don't worry if you don't know the rules. Apparently it's as much about the card game as it is catching up on building gossip. Who's in?

Whatever's happened to the city almost makes me wish I was a biologist. As it is, I've spent much of my free time exploring the various regions - so much biodiversity, it's incredible. It does make me wonder whether you could construct something like this to counter the effects of global warming. Or, back home, to make regions further from the equator more hospitable for dinosaurs.

Unfortunately, though not for lack of trying, I haven't found many fossils, I wonder if that's because these biome regions are not exactly natural - or rather, they were almost instantaneous and not over the thousand or years or more that it normally takes an environment to change.


On a different note, does anyone have a favorite spot for rock climbing around here?

I’m just realising that all I post about are sports, cars and other superficial things, but I don’t care because she’s here.

I’m also well aware that owning a sports car in San Francisco is a pretty silly idea. But again, I don’t care, and will be sleeping in the parking garage tonight.

I think I need some help. Like a lot of help. Like I have no idea why a spell that was supposed to reverse the age on a loaf of bread within the diagram instead reversed the age of random people in the building and I definitely made it worse trying to fix it. Is anyone good at magical troubleshooting?

The catch is that nobody but me can read the spells, Arra enchanted the laptop so it just looks like a game of spider solitaire to anyone looking at the screen but me. So... yeah.
