I interviewed at a few local florists and nurseries, and all of them wanted to hire me on the spot when they learned what I can do with plants, only they want me to sign a "non-compete"?

I just received the first one in my email, and I read it, and it seems really harsh. Anything I grow while employed by them, even if it's at home, belongs to them. I also wouldn't be able to grow plants or make bouquets for friends unless they're sold through the florist.

I was told that I don't have to hide my powers here, but maybe I shouldn't have said anything?

This is possibly insane, but would you like to open your own store? I have no idea what would go into something like that, but if you've got the interest, I've got the investment capital.

It's not my bag at all, but there's plenty of people around who can probably steer you in the right direction.

How would you feel about being the lead coordinator for the community gardens in the local centers I sponsor? Would that be more your speed? It would be a paid position with benefits.

I just looked that up, and I think I would love that. The growing part definitely, but especially the education and helping those with food insecurity.

This is an open position you have? I wouldn't be ousting anyone, right?

Not at all! We've been looking since we opened and have a couple of volunteer minders, but nothing official. Why don't you take a look in person, talk to a few people, and see if it might be a good fit. If yes, I'll get you in touch with our people group. If no, maybe you can spend some time there as a volunteer instead. Zero pressure either way.

I can make plants grow out of season, and I think they really liked that. One of them mentioned "getting a foot up on the wedding market".
