Summary: Percy goes round to Penny's new flat after work to catch up
Percy had been putting some thought into what to get Penny for a flat warming present and hadn't been able to think of anything particularly useful or that she might really want. Instead he settled for quickly buying a bottle of wine before picking up some fish and chips. Whilst Percy didn't drink much he thought it might be nice to share a glass as they tidied her flat together or Penny could save it for another time. The smell that wafted up from the paper wrapping made his stomach rumble as he walked down Diagon Alley to Penny's place.
It was quite a while since they had seen each other, and Percy knew that he had perhaps let his correspondence slide a little. He hadn't kept Penny up to date on what was happening in his life and was sure that she had quite a bit to tell him. But whilst he had been more than happy to hear from her, he really wasn't looking forwards to telling her about the disease. He hoped it wouldn't be too much of a shock. Especially since he also had to tell her about how many people that they both knew who were infected. He hadn't wanted to write about it in an owl, but Percy wouldn't want Penny to be surprised by such news by anyone else. That was assuming that she hadn't already heard from someone.
Percy finally arrived at Penny's flat, rather relived to be getting inside out of the wind. His cloak just didn't seem to be keeping the cold out today. Percy clutched his packages to his chest with one arm and with his free hand he quickly cast a barrier charm before putting his wand away and knocking on the door.
