who Isaac Lahey and Kira Yukimura
what Waking up Sunday morning. Totally not what you might expect.
when Sunday morning.
where Ka'a'awa Valley, Oahu.
rating Awkward and cute! Mostly awkward. And a little painful.
Ka’a’awa Valley honestly hit all of Kira’s marks when it came to a perfect site to explore. It was nice and open and lush. It had tons of legends attached to it, the most exciting of which being that it was the site where many had seen the Nightmarchers. Jurassic Park had used it as a filming site. It was far enough away from civilization that she could sprawl out and enjoy it without distraction. It was perfect. And really, being in Hawaii afforded opportunities for so many other stops that had exactly the same qualities. Her list grew by the day, and she had no intention of missing out on the chance, even if this new life circumstance didn’t seem to be changing any time soon.
Really, Kira slipping off to take these sorts of journeys on her own wasn’t altogether unusual for her. She was a fiercely independent person anyway, having spent so long without any friends. She didn’t fear much, given that her electric shocks made her pretty formidable against any attacks. If she could ward off a werewolf, she could handle less supernatural foes. So, with a bag full of the necessities for a night out in nature, she’d set out earlier Saturday evening to cross the island of Oahu to Ka’a’awa. She’d taken a tour, then slipped off on her own to a nice, soft, lush place and spread out her blanket.
The idea that Isaac Lahey would actually want to venture out to join her had been a pleasant surprise, particularly because he meant to bring tacos. She’d been properly distracted in the time between their conversation and his arrival, her eyes trained between the nature around her and her research on her phone. He’d finally arrived, though, and they’d eaten. She’d zapped him any time he asked questions that didn’t relate to the present situation, though very gently. She’d been unable to resist amusement and pride at his research of the dinosaur sounds, having not entirely expected that (not that she let on her surprise).
Really, it’d been an altogether very pleasant evening, even if she’d not seen any ghosts. He’d been the first to spread out his long limbs all over the blankets they had, but she’d eventually laid back as well and finally dozed off.
The morning sun was warm and bright on her face as it slowly brought her back awake, and she made a gentle sound in her state of half-sleep, trying to shift to adjust herself. Only to be met with resistance. Still not entirely coherent, she wasn’t sure what the cause was, and continued to attempt to move only to find such impossible. Her eyes blinked open, only to be surprised by the sight of another person so close to her, and she realized quickly that the restrictive forces were arms and legs. In her moment of half-awake panic, her electric fingers snapped to life and she zapped the other person quickly, pushing herself away.
