Derek had promised Laura to go out for dinner for her birthday. It was nothing to crazy, since Derek wasn't much for being out in public. Something everyone in his family had in common. Even Cora stayed hidden from eyes most of the time. But right now, it was all about Laura. So Derek made sure to dress nice and pick his sister up. "Happy birthday." He replied to her as they made their way to that spot. Derek had made sure to make reservations for them and to be seated somewhere private since it was a private event they were celebrating.
Once that table was made available, they would each take their seats. Derek coming to sit across from Laura for the moment as he came to lean back in his chair and exhale deeply. "How's everything with you lately?" He came to ask as two waters were placed before them as the waiter walked off to give them time to think on what to order.
