Who: Group Delta
What: A Massacre With Dancing!
Where: The Hotel
When: Feb. 14, 1929, Evening
Warnings: TBA
Notes: This post will be done party post style. See this post for more details!

All was quiet on the North Side on St. Valentine's Day. A party was set up in a hotel ballroom on the North Side of town, red paper hearts attached to the walls and a banner declaring "Happy St. Valentine's Day!" hung from the buffet table by hotel workers. People exchanged cards in the street and put their cards in the mail, gathering at friends' houses for parties and meeting lovers everywhere from board rooms to back alleys. This was a day for lovers, not for bloodshed.

Well. At least for now.

"Mmhm, the rest you have to wait for." She smiled up at him. She finally started scanning the ballroom floor for anyone of Bellum, when she spotted Trenton and his lackey. If Cole hadn't seen them, she wasn't going to bring them to his attention.

"At least we're safe," she offered helpfully, "Beyond the raid, we've been fine. Lost in time, yeah probably. But it's not been all bad." Ileana wasn't going to admit she thought of moving out on the occasion, but her only option was to go back to the circus. Ileana tilted her head to the side, nodding up at Cole. "You did, you're very handsome. It's nice to see you all dressed up."

"I guess I can wait a little longer," he teased, pulling her closer without the slightest bit of concern for what was or wasn't appropriate in the time period. If they garnered a few disapproving looks - which he doubted - then it wasn't the end of the world.

Cole returned his attention back to Ileana and hadn't spotted Trenton, which was probably for the best. "True. I don't think anything will happen in here, and the cops shouldn't have any reason to come after us, considering the fact that we haven't done much in the last couple days." He shrugged. "I don't usually have much of a reason to dress up, I guess."

Ileana laughed a little, teasingly telling him, "Your life is so hard, having to wait." Their dancing was a little close and not quite in time, but Ileana was actually pretty happy for the moment. Sure, they may be trapped in a time warp, but it was a nice evening in a time warp.

She giggled delightedly as Cole actually spun her, a bit awkwardly. "You know, for what it's worth," she said, "This is a nice night. Who knew I had to take you to the 20s to get you to dance with me, love."

"I know, isn't it?" He shook his head mournfully, pulling a face. "I think I manage pretty well, though." Despite his tone it was clear he was teasing, and he felt his worry slip away bit by bit until there was very little of it left. It could be worse, after all.

The best part of being in a completely different time period was that there were very few people around to recognize him making a fool of himself. His dancing was awkward at best, but he genuinely was trying, a marked difference from his usual hesitant self. "I can make an exception for the 20s. Who knows, maybe it'll even carry over into our time and I'll take you dancing then." Cole caught sight of a drinks table through the fray, and he steered her through the crowd. "Want something to drink?"

"You do," she assured him with a look of sincerity, "Your struggles will be written about in the history books." Ileana laughed at that, "Oh god, it could be. I mean, if we're messing up history. We could be in a history book."

Ileana was pleased from the top of her head to the tips of her toes to have a night that was going this well. Even if their dancing wouldn't win them any awards any time soon. "I'll hold you to that," she laughed, letting Cole lead and steer her towards the drink table.

She took a flute of wine and handed one to him before picking up her own. Raising it a little, she said with a smile, "To having a happy Valentine's Day. Again."

He looked as though he couldn't decide whether he should be horrified or amused by the thought of making it into the history books. "Maybe. I'm not sure if we've actually done enough to make it into the history books, though. If anything we'd probably just be more nameless people part of a police raid."

Cole just laughed, glancing towards the stage once before they reached the drinks table. For a Valentine's Day party, it wasn't so bad. He raised his flute of wine to hers, grinning. "I'll drink to that," he teased, before taking a sip.
