What: A Massacre With Dancing!
Where: The Hotel
When: Feb. 14, 1929, Evening
Warnings: TBA
Notes: This post will be done party post style. See this post for more details!

All was quiet on the North Side on St. Valentine's Day. A party was set up in a hotel ballroom on the North Side of town, red paper hearts attached to the walls and a banner declaring "Happy St. Valentine's Day!" hung from the buffet table by hotel workers. People exchanged cards in the street and put their cards in the mail, gathering at friends' houses for parties and meeting lovers everywhere from board rooms to back alleys. This was a day for lovers, not for bloodshed.

Well. At least for now.

It had been so simple. Wait until dark. Get an invisible man into the shop. Let him do his work. Wait for him to get out, hand over the money, and hand him the clothes. It was supposed to be straightforward. They were supposed to be there for only a couple minutes before moving on to the next.

Why, then, did fate hate him so much? What exactly was it that he'd done to warrant glancing over and seeing the cops coming straight for him and the broken-into store after Archer handed him the money? Even in his culturally ignorant mind, he knew what it looked like when there was an open store that should have been closed and someone standing outside with a handful of cash. For the second time that day, they both had the luck of fleeing from the Chicago police, though Aiden knew he was going to be the only one to suffer if they got caught.

The two of them came bursting through the hotel doors and flew to a clattering, breathless halt in a small alcove just around the corner from the entrance. Aiden collapsed and tried to catch his breath, glaring aimlessly around in an attempt to fix Archer with it to demonstrate just how amazingly pleased he was with the situation.

"You couldn't have made it any less obvious?" he growled as he dropped the man's clothes, feeling his heart pounding in his chest and ignoring Van Helsing's endless chiding about the cost of committing crimes.

As pissed off as Aiden was, Archer believed that he had the rawer deal out of the two of them. Actually, no. He could have stayed behind, or abandoned him, or just gone off and robbed a clothing store instead and left him to rot in prison. But no. Archer ran with him, barefoot and naked through the snow in Chicago. Everything in his body was on fire, and he wasn't sure if he wanted to collapse or explode by the time they reached the hotel.

Once inside the alcove, Archer fell to the ground, invisible save for the coating of snow over his feet. He shuddered violently, each shiver audible as he curled around himself, unable to move temporarily. As Aiden growled at him, he snatched his clothing, pulling on his pants and fading visible once more. His face was gaunt, bright red, and streaming with sweat. As he buttoned up his pants and reached for his shirt, his nearly translucent skin was roasted with the red glow of rushing blood. Nearly every one of his ribs was visible, expanding and contracting rapidly while his heart thudded in his chest.

"Don't lecture me on obvious!" he snarled, pulling on his shirt and buttoning it up impatiently. "An invisible man is not. Obvious!" Huffing, he pulled on his socks and shoes, ignoring the absolutely excruciating pain in his feet as he stood, winding his tie around his neck and glaring at Aiden. "If you had moved faster, they wouldn't have noticed. You were standing there like a buffoon with the money in your fucking hand!" Archer never swore. This was huge.

In his mind, Griffin was just as angry, though not at Aiden. "He's right, boy. You were hesitant, you waited too long. You didn't own the store as I told you to, and look what happened."

He snarled, slapping himself upside the head in anger. "Shut. Up."

"No? Leaving footprints right up to where I was? Not closing the door fully? Not locking it behind you?" Aiden didn't even know if half of what he was talking about was true or not, but in his anger his mind provided all sorts of excuses to be furious at the biologist who was almost the cause for yet another bout of incarceration. "Shoving the money in my hand like it was filthy? Why did it even take you so long in there? It's not rocket science! Open the register, grab, run!"

Aiden kicked the snow off his shoes and ran a hand over his face, feeling the stubble under his fingers with a scowl. Still hadn't shaved, still wearing the same clothes ... if there were any police around here, he was screwed beyond belief. And speaking of - where were they? Archer had dragged them to a hotel and while it didn't look bad, it did look like something was going on. He peered out from around the alcove corner. There were a lot of decorations. A Valentine's day party? Huh.

"Looks like something's going on. Maybe we can mingle and get out the back way." Because going out the front? Never successful. At least, it hadn't been so far. "Think you can keep from causing a mess long enough for us to get out of here?" He smirked when Archer hit himself in the skull, knowing that the voice in there must be just as disappointed and angry as he was.

Such needless antagonism, Van Helsing sighed, which Aiden countered with a swift thought of he completely deserves it.

As Aiden picked at him about how long he had spent in the shop, Archer snarled, face twisted with rage. "I was being careful, exactly what you should have been doing instead of lurking about like a goddamned serial killer!" Glaring, he took a few steps towards the mouth of the alcove, feeling pain shoot up from his feet into his legs. His toes were still frigid, and moving them was excruciating.

"It was your own fault for being careless," Griffin said coldly. Everything in his voice was disappointment and disdain. "You didn't watch. You should have been looking for police and expecting them to target him." It seemed that Griffin had taken Aiden's side, if only to lecture Archer.

As Aiden peered out into the hotel, Archer ran his hands over his face, trying to calm down. His body was loaded on adrenaline and fueled by both pain and rage. He didn't know if he wanted to collapse or punch something until every bone in his body shattered. Aiden's snide comment made him glare viciously. "I don't know, Aiden," he replied icily. "Do you think that you can avoid looking like a blatant criminal long enough for us to escape?"

After Miles had been snatched up by the police, Theo had found himself bored beyond belief again. He'd blown through his twenty-dollars within the first two days, but he'd found enough to get by somehow. He always did, and he wasn't about to let being stuck in a strange time change that!

He was walking down the street, suave as could be in his newly-altered hat (a bit of ribbon and some sequins could do a lot, if one knew how to use them), when someone grabbed his arm and yanked. They didn't really move him, as he was quite a bit taller, but they made enough of an impact that he stopped and blinked down at the man.

"What are you doing out here? You're late!" The small, balding man glared and yanked again. "Are you trying to ruin this for the rest of us? Do you want this party to fail?"

Oo, a party... will there be... tea?

How rude! An invitation should be phrased so much more nicely than that.

Theo did like parties. "What part of a party am I playing?"

"Is that some kind of joke?" The man turned red right up onto his scalp. Fascinating! He yanked once more, and that time Theo went with him.

Once inside, he shoved an instrument in Theo's hand and pointed him toward the area where a band was seated, setting up. It was probably pointless to inform him that Theo had never played an instrument before in his life. Besides, he wouldn't want to ruin the funny little man's party for him. Though, his outfit would clash horribly with theirs...

He shrugged and proceeded, looking for a seat near those holding a whatsit like the one he held.

On Stage

Deirdre had broken off on her own once they were freed from the jail, walking calmly and trying not to draw attention to herself. She knew that she had to get off the streets, that the police would likely be looking for all of the escaped prisoners. She'd managed to tuck the bit of money that had been in her purse into her dress before it was taken away at the station, so she had enough to get herself a room for the night at a nearby hotel.

The next morning, she went to the dress shop on the same block as the hotel, buying herself something as inexpensive as possible while still looking appropriate. Number one on her list of needs was a hat. Red hair was easy to spot, and she wasn't the only redhead in the cell. She wasn't about to try to color it, but it needed to be covered as much as possible.

The next few days were quiet, almost lonely. She didn't see any familiar faces, either from the building or the police station, and she began to hope that the building hadn't left her behind. She was out for a walk, observing all the festivities of Valentine's Day (and there was something familiar in her mind about that date in conjunction with 1920s Chicago, she just couldn't put her finger on it).

Passing by the alley of one of the local hotels (not her own), a man ran up to her, frantic, and started pulling her toward the back door. "Thank goodness I found you, Doll. The gig's about to start, see? Where you been?" Deirdre tried to pull her arm out of his grip, tried to protest that she wasn't who he was looking for, but he was insistent, and it was only a moment before she was helped out of her coat, pushed onstage in a simple black dress, directly in front of a microphone.

"Sing, Doll!" the man hissed from offstage, but Deirdre was left looking at the band around her, searching for some help or hint of what was going on.

Theo thought he maybe sort of recognized the girl in front of the microphone from brief glimpses at the bar, the first night they'd arrived. Either way, she had such lovely hair. When she glanced around, he smiled, and tipped his hat, then mouthed "Bellum" at her. He would have liked to have mouthed more, but he knew from experience that people generally couldn't lip read entire conversations, unless they'd had a lot of practice. Theo could lip read half a conversation.

Which half? The back or the front? The left or the right?

Ah, there was that new voice again. Right in the middle, Theo thought, then Do you know how to honk this horn?

In the usual manner, one would suspect, if one knows what that usual manner might be.

Theo made an effort at blowing on the thingamabob on the whatsit horn - he'd never been much for music - but, since he lacked the proper training or even knowledge of how to hold his lips to make a sound, nothing came out. That, he reflected, was probably for the best. It would likely have been quite disharmonious.

Deirdre frowned as one of the musicians caught her eye and smiled. He didn't seem familiar, except in the way that she'd noticed other Bellum residents seemed to stick out in their situation here. In fact, she was pretty sure that he was attempting to say something about the building. Which meant that she wasn't alone in this strange time.

He wasn't of any help to her though, back with the musicians as he was. She turned slowly, looking out at the crowd that was already gathering for the party. There were no familiar faces there, either.

The man was still hissing at her from off-stage, when she finally realized that the song the musicians were playing was familiar to her. A memory invaded of her sitting with Kyle when he was a baby, Alan's music in the background, words coming back to her if she concentrated. She was no sort of professional singer, but if this was another strange task from the building, she was going to get it done so she could go home.

She stepped closer to the microphone and began to sing, voice quiet and still unsure, but the tune was true even when she couldn't remember the words.

Lobby --> Ballroom

Cole was very much ready to return home any time the building decided it had screwed with their lives enough for now. He and Ileana had managed to lay pretty low for the last couple of days, although he was worried about the fact that Shane had gone out and hadn't returned yet. Still, he knew the man was fairly capable of taking care of himself, even though he hoped nothing bad had happened to him.

He knew the date, thanks to the newspaper, but it didn't really make him feel much better. History wasn't his strong suit, but he knew that there was a February 14th sometime in the 1920s that was infamous for all the wrong reasons. Knowing the building, it was probably this one.

He and Ileana had just returned from getting some food - he made sure to stick close to the hotel, just in case - when he heard the sound of music and laughter coming from his right. The hotel lobby was empty, but the noise seemed to be coming from the ballroom. It sounded like a party, and he turned to Ileana with raised eyebrows. "You want to check it out?"

Ileana was getting sick of living in a hotel room, even if it was with Cole. She wanted her own time, her own bed, and she really hoped she had a job to come back to whenever they dropped back into their time.

It hadn't been too hard to lay low and wrangle some under the table work for a few dollars here and there. Enough of it kept them in their room and kept them from starving. As much as she disliked the whole situation, it still was surprisingly less insane than being at home which was just sad to admit.

Ileana looked in surprise at the sound of the party. She grinned a little and shrugged, "Sure, come on.." and she tugged him along with her to peek in to the ballroom. There was obvious signs of it being a Valentine's Day party. A slightly inebriated woman walked past them, taking notice of them and exclaiming loudly, "Oh it's good to see you again, darlings! We were worried you two weren't going to be joining us!"

Looking a little lost for a moment, Ileana recovered and just smiled as she said, "Oh, we were just..running late. Happy Valentine's Day?" And the woman was off in to the party, heading toward the buffet table. Turning to Cole with a confused look, "Ten bucks says that's cause of the building."

He almost wished he hadn't asked, but a party couldn't be that bad, and at least it would make time pass by faster. As long as the police didn't decide to bust this one too, then it should turn out to be relatively safe. Cole followed her into the ballroom, taken aback when the woman greeted them as though they were familiar. Then again, considering her unsteady wobble and the building's history of things not making sense, it really wasn't too surprising.

"Uh... right." He offered the woman an uncertain smile, shaking his head once she walked away. "Probably. I wonder if we have completely different identities here, or if we've become actual historical figures." They had to be screwing up the proper timeline just by being here. He frowned at all the red and pink decorations before shrugging. "Happy Valentine's Day, I guess. Sorry I didn't get you anything."

"I think we're just messing with history now," Ileana sounded amused by it all. If the building wanted to pull this, fine. "Happy Valentine's Day to you too," Ileana said with a laugh, "You owe me a dance then if you forgot to buy me anything."

She pulled him in to the ballroom, moving in respectively close (especially for the time period.) Ileana scanned the room, possibly looking for others if this was a set up for the building. It's when she noticed the redhead on stage -- Deirdre? Crazy bitch from the ship. That definitely was her. As they started a slow sway to the music, Ileana leaned up to whisper to him, "Redhead singer is from Bellum. She's P1. This is definitely building work."

Like any floundering soiree, this ballroom was missing one crucial element on it's way to greatness. Trenton. The main doors swung wide with a heavy sound of enthusiasm as our playboy pulled Isobel and himself inside. They, naturally, looked dapper as hell. Still sporting the critical elements of their speakeasy attire, like many of the others. Unsullied, but a little tense around the eyes when he caught his young, blond companion by the arm and whisked her further into the partying throng. It almost seemed as if he was trying to disappear, or hide from anyone who might come looking.

Which, coincidentally enough, was exactly the point! Isobel and himself had danced their way through a half dozen little jazz dens and cigar clubs that evening, evading the near constant prattle of hounding photographers that would not take a fucking hint, not even when Trenton had smashed a tumbler glass alongside one of their clueless skulls. Violence and agitation only seemed to frenzy the paparazzi further, like piranhas, they smelled the blood and swarmed in a new, exciting flash of two dozen broken flashbulbs.

This new hotel was pure coincidence, something a little dustier than where they'd been staying, and therefore likely to throw off their trail. Hearing the music -- which sounded fucking horrible, by the way, Dee -- and seeing the growing crowd of partiers, Trenton saw his opportunity to try to blend in.

Ha! As if falling into the grayscale pattern of this dismal crowd was even a fucking option. Look at these two, they were supernovas. Trenton gave his blue dressed partner a little spin, "Let's find a fuckin' drink.." He'd yet to recognize anyone from Bellum in the room.

Saying that she had never experienced anything like the evening they had had would be the understatement of the century. From club to club, smoky bar to smokey bar, the photographers and reporters had managed to find them no matter what smokey, shadowed place they had tried to hide within. Isobel was starting to wonder if she'd ever stop seeing the afterimages of flashbulbs going off, but she hardly had time to wonder on that for long before Trenton pulled her along to yet another establishment.

The musty atmosphere of the hotel was a welcome sight, even with the decorations hanging all over and the revelers dancing the evening away. Drawing back in towards Trenton after the spin that left her dizzy and laughing, she hooked her arm with his to keep from getting separated. "How about we make that two drinks," she said, giving him a smile and then pulling him towards a waiter who was weaving through the crowd with a tray of drinks. Two were snagged and she offered the first to Trenton before tipping her own back in a single go. The photographers had been all about their debauched behaviour... she really wanted to show them what debauched could be about!

Immediately after his argument with Aiden, Archer had made a beeline for anything that smelled of food. His mission? To get a drink. He obtained a glass of wine and drained it in record time, chasing it with a second. By the time the awkward band members - wasn't the man with the trumpet the one that had faked a heart attack in the jail? - were ushered onstage, he was nearing the end of his second glass, and the pain his body had endured from his run was starting to ebb away.

"You imbecile," Griffin snarled. "Impairing yourself is not going to-"

"Shut up!" Archer snapped, swirling his glass of wine as he looked down into its deep red depths. "I am stuck. In." His thoughts grew increasingly erratic when he was tipsy, and it was difficult to hang onto one for long. "Chicago. Which is very cold. I'm warming myself up."

"Alcohol is a vasodilator, which you know very well means that you are in fact losing body heat while-"

"Hey!" Archer cut Griffin off, raising his glass as a blue star dazzled his vision. A few people turned to look at the gaunt man with red cheeks as he stumbled - partially from the drink and partially from the horrific pain that was still throbbing in his feet - towards a lovely young couple that seemed to be having a wonderful time.

Surprisingly, Griffin didn't protest as Archer approached the girl, standing beside her with an unusual ease. "Hello!" he said far too brightly, taking a sip from his drink. "I must say, I'm surprised to see you here." He didn't even look at the man she was with - he had to be inconsequential.

As soon as the music had stopped, Theo had made his way toward the table in back where he though he possibly saw something resembling food. He'd hoped Miles would follow, and he'd gestured for the pretty red-headed singer to come, too, but he didn't stop to see whether either of them were behind him. The food was his priority at the moment.

If anyone objected to him taking a plate, they kept quiet about it. He started shoveling it into his mouth even as he was finishing making his way down the table. "Sinfully scrumptious," he mumbled, and "delightfully delicious." Having blown his money on things other than food, he reflected, had been a very bad idea.

The promise of nourishment? Of course he'd followed. Faithfully, dutifully, and enthusiastically. However, he was indeed fashionably tardy, as he'd allowed himself to be twirled a few times on the dance floor, and as well spin others in return, before making it successfully to the buffet table. "Magically delectable." He'd added as he'd arrived aside Theo, gathering up a plate he felt was not big enough. Ah, well!

"Everything is Valentined themed. How quaint." He brought up a heart-shaped cookie. Obviously, he didn't care much for any other type of food besides the sweets, as his plate was quickly filling up with cake, cookies, anything that had color and looked attractive. "I hope they spiked the punch."

Blue lights flashed in his peripheral; he knew what they meant, and he being practically a fugitive on the run did not like their meaning. Miles glanced over toward where they'd been produced once--then twice--and thrice was enough to confirm he was not imagining things. He'd dropped his plate of cookies onto the floor.

"Did you..."

He paused. And unfortunately in that pause, someone had twirled a little too near him, knocking his favorite fedora from his head.

It rolled into the lobby like an expert tumbler from Mongolia.

She felt stupid. Utterly stupid and emotional and why had she run off instead of first slapping Trenton and trying to create some excuse to Jasper? You didn't make excuses because that's just how you are, the voice in her head whispered, and Isobel stumbled out into the lobby, leaning against one of the walls with an arm wrapped against her midsection. Our mothers kept us safe for a reason, Isobel. The world isn't safe. Can't you see? There are no princes to save us. Just people to hurt us.

Her breath choked in her throat and she wiped at her eyes, trying to pull herself together, but Trenton's words continued to echo in her head. There was another hiccup as she struggled to keep herself from crying, and it was while she was looking up and out towards the main doors of the hotel that she caught sight of the red and blue lights flashing outside. Immediately, her stomach dropped to somewhere around her ankles, and she felt like throwing up. "You've got to be kidding me," she said to herself, her voice shaking.

Isobel glanced back towards the ballroom and the revelers that partied on like the world was their oyster, and she had no idea what to do.

And struck Isobel gently, right on the heel.

"Wait!" He'd shouted at, as if this might persuade it to refrain from tumbling into harms way. But everyone knows an acrobat is a maverick and a rebel--they listen to nobody--and thus the hat wound up right, smack dab, where Miles did not want it to be. In fact, the very idea that he had to go and claim it potentially putting himself into harms way or in the arms of the law, despite it being next to some weepy blonde with dreamy blue eyes, made his heart answer the thunderous gallop of bulls.

"Don't go into the lights!" He swiped up the hat and stood tall, dusting it off liberaly, and then securing it once again onto his addled head. "Pardon me, miss. I apologize for an extension of myself unintentionally touching your person."

Anya had lost Shane in the lobby, and she'd used the time to explore. She was feeling much better than the night before, thanks to the foray into the bathtub, and she'd managed to find a pair of man's work overalls and a thick, cable-knit sweater for warmth along the way. Her hair was a messy pile atop her head, and she didn't look like she cared a fig for her appearance because, well, she didn't.

The voice in her mind had gone quiet since that morning, and she was starting to hope she'd imagined it. She was standing on a chair, looking for anyone she recognized, when she saw 'Jareth.' She she hopped down and made her way over to him, and she noticed the crying blonde as she neared. She didn't hesitate before smoothing her hair when she got close enough; Anya didn't acknowledge personal space.

"Jareth," she said to her almost-friend, even as she consoled the blonde, the police lights completely un-worrisome. Jail was warm, after all, and nothing bad had happened to them there the night before.

Since breaking from jail with the rest of the Belum-ites, Joss had seen very little of those from modern times. She found that for once she didn’t care – 1920’s Chicago was her kind of place, where anyone could steal a bit of the lime light with a quick grin, connections, and talking like you knew where the booze was. Joss had only two of the three, but could fake the one she didn’t have. She was taken in by a low-life crowd, poked and prodded and shoved into a dress even more bangled than the last – something she didn’t mind in the slightest. That is, until she was out on an errand for one of the woman who were housing her. She was grabbed by an unfamiliar man, mustache thick and clothing expensive. The fact that he knew her name shocked her into silence and from making a crude comment – the way he dragged her into a cab and kissed the top of her head, put off the wrong warning bells.

But then again, what kind of rapist jerk shit called his abductee daughter? She could only stare skeptically at him, as he gave her a scolding as thorough as any that Sherri’s had been. She interrupted a few times to protest that he really had the wrong girl – and could he please let her out now? She had a “package” to pick up – but he merely laughed at her. The cab pulled up in front of a fancy hotel, late to some fucking party. (Right, Valentine’s. Fuck-a-doodle-doo. Did anyone really enjoy that anymore?)

She ushered inside and dragged off to a redheaded woman who promptly burst into tears when she saw her. Joss froze, dragged into a bear hug before being taken to an elevator. The woman – her mother?, damn for as annoying as her mother was she didn’t bring out the water-works like this – blubbered on how she and Bethany (WHO?) needed to learn to pay attention to the time, before changing her into yet another flapper dress, hat, and stole.

Joss was beginning to hate this whole madness. Especially as Badr seemed to love this woman.

Eventually, Joss was patted on the back and sent downstairs to the party – another kiss on the head from mustache-man and she caught the eye of a redheaded girl who had been given similar treatment. Her nose wrinkled before she took off, ignoring the flashing lights behind her. Who cared if the strobe-lights were invented if a different age? They couldn’t be the cops; that would be way too coincidental.

She kept to the wall at first, scanning the crowd to get a feel for it before spotting the booze. She grabbed a glass of the whatever, downing it more as a prop rather than wanting to be drunk. Badr continued to whine, but Joss was getting better at ignoring her conscious – she ignored it most of the time anyway.

A hand however, snagged her wrist and she was pulled into the fray of dancers. The drink fell the ground in surprise, but she didn’t notice. The man the hand belonged to only kept his eyes on her and for Joss, that was enough. She gave him her best smile, faking the dance steps as they went along ignoring Badr’s shock. Really, what else would I do in a place like this?

The lights flashed more, spinning across the room, making her partner look up but Joss didn't like that. She reached up to tug on his collar and he looked down with a grin, humoring her. They drifted towards a side wall, her eyes catching her "parents'" for a second, before the man had pulled her aside. He murmured something about how she looked gorgeous, causing Badr to swoon, just as he leaned towards her. For once, Joss didn't mind the heavy part of such encounters, wrapping an arm around his neck - interrupted only by the sudden shouts of the police and the fierce sound of gunshots.

"Oh fuck," she muttered against her partner's lips, just as a thud from behind sent him slumping into her. She screamed.

Everything seemed to happen so fast that it hardly seemed real. One minute he and Ileana were dancing, trying to balance two glasses of wine while keeping in step, and the next everything became chaos. There was a distant thud, like a door being kicked open, and loud shouts could be heard over the music. People froze, seized by the prey instinct that rendered them all incapable of understanding what was happening until the first gunshot was fired and chaos descended. There was screaming and shouting and gunfire, but none of it seemed to make any sense. Why were the police shooting at them? Surely that was a huge misuse of force; even if people resisted, they shouldn't have--

He was yanked out of his thoughts sharply when Ileana tugged on his arm, telling him they had to move and get the hell out right now. In desperation he grabbed her hand and moved as fast as he could, pushing past frantic bodies and trying to avoid the gunfire, but it sounded like it was coming from everywhere at once. Only when he heard a strangled cry from behind him and felt Ileana's hand go slack in his did he turn around, eyes widening in horror as he saw her look down at herself - mainly the ragged wound encompassing her collarbone that sprayed blood like a grotesque fountain. Everything seemed to fade away to a low buzzing sound as her knees collapsed beneath her, and somehow he managed to catch her before she hit the ground. "No, no..." His throat grew tight as he shook his head, oblivious to the people shoving and pushing around him until he felt someone pull him to his feet.

Cole, you can't help her here! RUN! Ichabod's voice rang soundly through his head, and Cole listened. Cradling her body protectively against his, he began to fight his way towards the door.

[Continued from Here.]

Gunshots. Screaming. A whirlwind of tassels and sequins, black eye-shadow, bow-ties, white shirts bursting with blood, black, and blue. Miles grabbed Anya's hand forcefully. As far as he was concerned, she didn't have a choice as to if he were allowed to be protective of her or not. Thus, he'd corralled her over toward where the gunshots currently were not being fired. Or, so it seemed. Holes deftly made their indents from the bullets, powdering the floor and dark jackets with white dust from the pieces of wall being broken. He'd also minded where Theo and La Blue Blues were, and was fairly certain they'd followed to pancake against the nearest alcove for the collective: OH FUCK, WE NEED TO LEAVE.

You don't have worry.
I can take care of any threat!

Great, he was inwardly rhyming again, and at a time like this!

Let me out? Was he hearing shit?

The cops had flooded through the lobby and were quickly seeping into the ballroom. Whatever fool remained to fight against them in some mockery of Mickey Mouse heroics was being mercilessly devoured by bullets, and not the magical kind from Disneyland. He could hear the rounds going off and the smell of the gun powder.

Let me play...
I've been quiet all day!

"Time to run, but not to split up!"
