I may sound like a broken record here on the whole “a lot has changed”, but I think it’s fair for me to use the punch card with how enormous Christmas has become. The future certainly doesn’t make anything simple. And Christmas appears to be very serious.

It’s a nice atmosphere though. For a city that’s crowded and never sleeps, covered in lights and a positive attitude.

What’s the non-dinosaur way to spend Christmas these days?

If it gets too overwhelming, you can spend Christmas the way Jews do: see a movie and then go out for Chinese food.

That sounds like an amazing tradition, actually. Overwhelming as it is, there’s definitely enough to experience.

And that sounds nice and laid back. Is that what you’ll be doing?

Probably. Sometimes I go over to Darcy's for dinner.

I also like watching the Christmas special of Doctor Who. It's a British TV show about a time-travelling alien. Been on for since the 60s. They always do a special event for the holidays.

Those sound like great traditions. At least the good things haven’t changed about the holiday.

Get a tree, spiked eggnog, and watch Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story 😁

I take it that’s your tradition? I don’t think I’ve tried the eggnog yet but spiking it won’t do much for me.

I don't really do much, I haven't really celebrated Christmas the last few years.

You’ve got more moves than this old dog. Supposedly I used to be pretty smooth.

You didn’t have to do that...I’m the worst at getting gifts. Is there anything you want in particular?

You still have your moves, and are good at kissing.

Nothing in particular. I am not used to getting gifts for Christmas so you have lots of free rein.

The quiet, thoughtful move? Gets ‘em every time...

I’m not either. Usually we’re judt happy with the company and money to have a nice meal. Looks like I’ve got some work to do.

I honestly don’t know how. If it works for you then that’s all that matters.

Of course you can. Maybe we could walk around the city and see the lights?

It doesn’t need to work for anyone else, dulce.

They put up enough to light the city from the other continents. I don’t know how they pay the electric bill.

It might be magic, that they use for the lights. ;)

I used to develop a benign hemifacial spasm whenever I saw Christmas decorations on sales shelves anytime around Halloween. I can only imagine how overwhelming it must seem now.

I was usually making rounds or on call, so I haven't actually celebrated for years. Best advice I can offer is enjoy the lights and the snow. If snow happens, use the subway or walk. Cabs or Uber are a bad idea.

You're going to have a stocking hanging on my mantle next to Steve's. In case you needed an incentive to visit beyond my cooking.
