Good morning!
I know it is early, but I thought I'd better post. I'm Shuri, previously in Oakland, California until I found myself in a park near Harlem about an hour and a half ago.

This multiverse hopping is exhausting. I could use a latte and maybe something to eat. I just stepped through a portal to 30 Warren, wherever that is. Is anyone awake?

That's a hop, skip, and a jump you never wanted.

Hey, Shuri! You probably don't remember meeting me from before, but I'm glad to see you here again. We can use another brainiac on the flip side.

I do feel a bit like Dorothy, minus the dog, the companions and the evil witch.

There isn't an evil witch, right?

I know who you are, Mr. Stark, and I understand you are much better than when I last saw you.

Also, I have questions and theories regarding our circumstances. Captain Rogers suggested I speak with you.

Not that I know of. If there is, we'll just use some buckets of water to melt her.

Yep! Hi. Still alive. That's always a bonus.

We've ran scans and it seems like this is a magic thing rather than a science thing, but sure! Go ahead. Hit me.

Ahhh, so that works here as well as in Oz? Good to know.

That is beyond a bonus. It is wonderful! :)

I am familiar with both, but naturally, I lean more toward science. Let me check my notes.

Here is the transcript of my communication with Captain Rogers. This is a start to the direction of my inquiries:

Shuri 06:31 pm UTC -- I am sure you do. Hmmm... Do you think it is the same you every time?

Captain Rogers 06:33 pm UTC -- I honestly have no idea, nor is it something I thought of thinking about.

Shuri 06:37 pm UTC -- I thought I'd get a jump start on investigating this anomaly and it just occurred to me to ask.
If we are all from the Prime Universe, then the answer is probably yes, which is interesting.

Captain Rogers 03:41 pm UTC -- If anyone would be interested in that information it would be you, for sure.
That is interesting.

Shuri 04:14 pm UTC -- True dat.
Assuming there is only one version of us in the Prime Universe, then it would have to be that same one being drawn here each time.
And that is interesting to me because if this rift is completely random, why would it keep pulling the same people in after, theoretically, tossing them back?
And if this rift is not random, then what is the purpose? We're needed? Why couldn't the original version of us in this fractured universe handle whatever crisis arises?

Captain Rogers 06:25 pm UTC -- Could it be that there's something about those it keeps pulling that makes us more susceptible to it?
Those are all very interesting lines of inquiry, and I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with for answers.

Shuri 06:55 pm UTC -- Like people who get struck by lightning tend to get struck again?
For all I know, these things have been considered and I am not presenting anything new. I've only been here a few hours and I'm jumping in the deep end. :)
I will keep you in the loop, Captain, should a loop get started. Who else should I discuss this with?

Captain Rogers 01:15 am UTC -- Something like that, perhaps.
Well, I am not surprised you're jumping straight into the deep end.
I appreciate that - I would image Tony would know the answer to that best.

Shuri 01:34 am UTC -- I have a reputation to uphold, I see. ;)
I will ask him, then.
After breakfast. :D

Ok gotcha.

Here's all I know. We're pretty much living proof that the multiverse theory isn't just a theory. We know from the flip side and gathering Infinity Stones, that timelines can be manipulated or branch off. The doc with the world's worst bedside manner and most loyal outerwear ever? He popped in when things flip-flopped, on day one, and we splintered off in two parallel directions.

There was an instability that started when he messed with time and space using the Time Stone. Some incursion on Earth from another dimension trying to eat our planet's face off (and everyone in it). Demon dimension or whatever. It kind of started to split things off, like a crack forming in glass, but no one was aware of it really until later on. Before Thanos, and after things supposedly went sideways with Asgard. For all we know, Asgard going boom could've caused it. I'm not sure of the dimensional density of their home-world, but they seemed to be connected by a lot of wormholes to everywhere else that Asgard was protecting. If that's what their Bifrost was....

Now I'm theorizing out loud. Oops.

Anyway. Dumbledore's said it's more of a metaphysical thing than a physics thing. Like the universe trying to set things right again by drawing certain important people into this timeline, to protect it. That's his best guess and he's vague about giving answers. That's all we've got to go on about what dragged us in here, for however long we're able to stay. And there's no rhyme or reason why people leave all of a sudden, either.

Answer so far: Big fat shrugsville. But I'm open to other theories.

That was a very thorough answer for a 'big fat shrugsville'. :)

I have always thought the concept of multiple universes was a possibility. It could not be empirically proven, but neither could the existence of God or ghosts or military intelligence, and yet some people believed in them.

However, this does not mean they do not exist. Paul Steinhardt argued that no experiment can rule out a theory if the theory provides for all possible outcomes.

The philosopher Chrysippus in the Third Century B.C. suggested that the world eternally expired and regenerated, effectively suggesting the existence of multiple universes across time. That is perpetuated with the Brane multiverse proposal, that we are one of many universes each existing on a membrane, floating around and occasionally interacting and very rarely colliding and creating a Big Bang, a cyclic reboot for those universes who would then start again.

I do not think this is our situation. There are too many variables and we would have to play with Strings and have extra spacial dimensions, and it is just more complicated than we need to be. Expanding from that idea, though, and yes, taking into account the metaphysical aspect to this situation, we are probably experiencing a quantum multiverse, created when a diversion in events occurs, like the MWI of quantum mechanics.

Essentially, this incursion from another universe near us, or dimension, whatever word you please, and the use of the Time Stone created the splintering of our universe, the Prime one, into this one and possibly created others, too. How or why the Doctor 'popped' into it would be interesting to pursue.

Applying a consciousness to this fractured universe an unusual route. We do not tend to think of something as massive and complicated as a universe being an entity which can make decisions and act upon them, like pulling certain people into this new 'mistake' to 'fix' things as it might perceive them. This seems like a stretch to me, even with magic in the mix.

Your thoughts on this?

Well, it's all we got? Basically, there is no scientific reason that can be found. Feel free too try to look for one, but you won't find it. We've already tried looking.

The magician with the real answers is hush hush about it. You can try to get answers out of him. I bet you're going to get shut down or get portaled somewhere else, though. Pack a bag if you try.

A challenge! I have listened to everything you have said and will make notes as soon as we finish here.

I will consider asking the Doctor more questions, but will heed your warning and pack a bag. :D
