So. The time stone reacted to my other self showing up. Meeting your other self inadvertently? Not merely a trope. It really is a bad idea.

Your calendars and date settings aren't wrong. It was 2019. It really is four years in the future and it really is 2023 now.

Sorry.

Yeah, got that part. Well, sort of.

Explain the part where we're suddenly five years in the future despite no time passing.

Technically it seems like it's four years. We were in 2019 but we moved to 2023.

Anything related to time travel is going to be confusing from the start. From what I sensed through the stone, our universe was lagging behind in time. His was ahead, which is what we dreamed of.

When we met, I had the stone open to work on a problem at hand that only the mystics can solve. The stone latched onto him, and sought to bridge the distance between those of us who were transferred into this universe using the only means it could control: time.

Now we're caught up with our other selves. I expect further dreams will now be in the present.

That's not confusing at all.

Is there anything we need to do? Or not do?

I've been in a dimension where my own hand grew infinitely smaller hands. Time travel and dimensional issues are the most confusing and messed up subjects. Meddling with any of it is a bad idea, and this accident was inadvertent. I didn't know my prime universe counterpart was going to show up.

There's nothing we can do.

The stone's not being compliant and turning back time by four years runs the risk of breaking time entirely.

Okay, so do nothing. I can handle that, I think.

Uh... I don't need to worry about finding a wife and kids waiting for me or anything, do I?

I'm certain this will bring other issues up, but we'll have to wait and see what they are. Right now, everything is an unknown.

Uh. I hope not. Were you actively looking for a wife and kids before this?

Maybe you should go check.

I most certainly was not.

God, I hope I don't find anything like that.

I hope I don't find anything like that, either.

It would be very awkward.

Since I have no intentions of getting married or having children, ever, that would be exceptionally awkward and likely end in divorce.

I'm not necessarily opposed to the idea. I'd just like to actually experience it.

That would probably be a good thing when it comes to matrimony, I'd imagine. I don't blame you for wanting that experience, at all.
