Grad Party

Saturday - June 19th

Celebrating the Class of 2021
Darcy, using Tony's credit card, planned a blow out grad party for the four graduates who were currently stuck in this weirdo alternate universe - Peter Parker, Michelle "MJ" Jones, Ned Leeds, and Tandy Bowen. They rented out the The Upstairs Game Room and invited everyone in the Tower to join them. All of the kids were offered 'paid internships' at Stark Industries that included free housing so they could live there with the rest of the group instead of with their alternate universe families now that they were officially graduates. © tessisamess

"I mean, you're a superhero to me." Peter grinned and nudged Ned in the side lightly, but he grew more focused as their conversation went on. "I wonder if they'd freak out if you told them Spider-man consults you for his tech issues?" He guessed that would depend on what they thought of Spider-man in the first place - a lot of people in the city were supportive, but others saw him as the menace JJ Jameson always claimed he was.

"That could help explain the Tony connection. Or - you're smart, dude. Even if we hadn't gotten involved in this whole side of things, you'd be on the radar of someone like him." But no matter how Ned's parents took it, it was still all a lot to take in. They were starting to grow up, and the changes felt like they were all happening fast. "Adulting is kind of scary, isn't it? I'm really glad I'll be doing it with you."

Ned smiled at the compliment. Peter was smart too so hearing the compliment meant more than if some random person said it. "I think maybe if I mentioned that I like, never see the bad guy that they'd be less worried." Except sometimes he did, like at the school dance. Sometimes you also had to be closer to something to hack it... maybe he'd keep the whole Spider-Man thing under wraps for now.

"Ugh. Adulting is scary and hard. I mean, like, we're going to have to feed ourselves now, do our own laundry, force ourselves to go to bed instead of binge watching Star Wars." Ned listed it like these were the worst things in the world. It didn't occur to Ned as he talked that his upbringing was a little different that his best friend who only had his Aunt to depend on in the last couple of years.

"Speaking of Star Wars though, we should definitely binge watch the whole series at some point." Did MJ like Star Wars? Ned had no idea.

"Hey, no curfew at least." As overwhelming as it would be to adjust to the grown up life, there were perks. "And if we want to eat donuts at 2am, we can." Not like that would be a good idea on a day before class, but no one would be able to tell them otherwise. Well, sort of. There were plenty of adults in the Tower, so they wouldn't be able to go too wild. As wild as self-professed nerds like Peter and Ned could get, anyway.

"We should add that to a list. Our summer bucket list." Peter's eyes lit up at the mention of Star Wars. "We could fill it with all the stuff we want to do before September. We could bring MJ in on it. And Tandy if she's interested, too." If this was their last summer before college and other responsibilities fell into the mix, Peter was determined to take advantage. "What else could we put on it? Coney Island. All the touristy stuff, all the non-touristy stuff..."

The no adults thing was definitely a plus for the most part, though part of Ned wondered if that meant they'd have to fend for themselves more often. Maybe. Or maybe not since the Tower was filled with superheroes.

"We definitely should do the Sterling Faire. Are we too old for Legoland?." He hoped not. He still collected and built Lego and liked it when Peter helped out too. Maybe the theme park would be for kids though.

"Dude, we're never too old for Legoland." Or so Peter believed. He wasn't sure if others would agree, but he and Ned had tackled some pretty complex projects - which had helped build their interest and skill on the innovating side of things.

"Definitely adding those both to the list." Peter pulled out his phone and made a new note for a summer bucket list, grinning over at his friend. Despite all the changes upcoming in their lives, having the next few months ahead to hang out without schoolwork would make the transition easier. "Let's see what else we can come up with."

(ooc: wrapped? ty for putting up with my slowness 😅<33)
