Christine took out her phone and scrolled through her calendar. It was always a bit hit or miss when she was on-call, but thankfully her rotation seemed a bit ...well, manageable.

"I think I have some time next week....or a few weeks. I will text you, and please, don't think I've forgotten if it takes some time! I block time off, but then there's consults to write and paperwork in addition to whatever emergencies pop up, so pre-planning can be hard. Don't be surprised if I just send you a message and say 'today! in an hour!' because that's the best way I plan."
