Mitchell had been there an hour early just for the sake of having a convenient place to sort his own notes out. However, he did leave for a short time fifteen minutes 'til nine to go retrieve Mabel, who he finally dragged in five minutes later than the club was originally supposed to start. Carefully, though. Professor Dymphna Furmage was there supervising the first meeting, after all, and he had a stolen position to uphold.
No vote had been cast to officially instate him as the club's captain yet, but he was happy to take over without paying any mind to this issue. He went ahead and gave a list of the club's plans for the year that consisted of going over constellations, alternative constellations, important stars, and basic astrophysics not included in Astronomy's usual core curriculum. Revision would
not be happening, but everyone's level/status in the subject would be requested and considered. Extra material could be provided upon request and proper questions would be answered.
He made a note on possible auxiliary meetings for special events such as potential meteor showers and the upcoming eclipses should happen in January and February; the lunar of which would unfortunately not likely be visible due to the time of day, so no need to get hopes up. Otherwise, he was happy to meet more than once a month depending on what suited people best.
Any questions or comments from other members were welcome, but certainly not necessary. Despite the grey weather creating a difficult environment to view much of anything, he was still happy to stand up front and give details about what they were to go over first if there were no protests.
