Evan picked up the small shoe and looked around. Perking an eyebrow, he quietly moved across the bedroom, doing his best not to startle the person he was stalking. As he stepped up behind his son, who was currently pushing a toy truck around, Evan quickly scooped him up and held him up in the air. "Got ya!" he said as he laughed.
Torren squealed in delight and started to kick his feet. "Mama!" he cried out between giggled.
"Nope. Your mommy can't help you now," Evan said before he held Torren above him and bew on his stomach. "We need to get your shoe on so we can go out and celebrate."
Torren happily clapped as Evan sat him down on the bed. He quickly slipped the shoe onto Torren's foot and smiled. Atlantis was completely done, except for a few unwritten reports. According the the last report from the IOA, they would be leaving Earth within two weeks. In a little over a month, they would be back in Pegasus and Teyla would be able to see her people again. Evan knew how excited his wife was, especially since it meant Torren would be able to celebrate his first birthday on New Athos.
But first, they had a grill out to go to at Jack O'Neill's house. Apparently, the older man had just gotten a new grill and wanted to try it out. So all of them had left the city the night before and came to Colorado Springs, and stayed at a local hotel.
"Okay, you're ready to go, buddy," Evan said as he picked Torren up and carried him out to the main room. He smiled at his wife and leaned over to kiss her deeply for several moments, while Torren patted the both of them on the cheek. When they parted, Evan grinned and took her hand. "We better go before the others kill us."
Once they had everything gathered up, they went down to the main lobby, where they met the others. Evan snorted when he saw Radek, Max and Rodney had managed to make it out of their room after being reunited the night before. After making sure everyone was there, they went out to the vans they had rented to take all of them over to the O'Neill's. When they got there, they went around to the back where Jack, Maggie, Charlie, Caldwell, Fred and Jeannie were.
"Oh, look. It's the group we always have to save," Charlie said with a smirk.
Caldwell snorted and shook his head before turning to help Jack with the food.
"Shut up," Cait said before she bent over to scoop up her and Carson's dog. "Hey, Belle. Miss us?"
"I don't want the two of you bickering today," Maggie said as she pointed at her children. She then smiled at the rest of them. "The cooler is over there. Help yourself."
