Evan sat there in shock as Hammond told them what the IOA was planning. He felt his heart drop to his stomach when he heard his wife's question. Reaching over, he took her hand and gave it a squeeze before turning his attention back to Hammond. He was about to say something but felt the breath leave his body when Hammond said the IOA were going to force Teyla and Ronon back to the Pegasus galaxy.
"No!" Evan growled. "They are not taking my wife away from me. And if they insist, then I'm going back with her."
"You can't, Major," Hammond quietly said. "You're still enlisted in the Air Force, and they won't let you go back. And before you think of resigning so you can go back, it won't work. The IOA wants you here. The only three they want back in Pegasus are Ronon, Teyla and your son."
Evan felt a lump form in this throat. They couldn't do this. They couldn't take his family away from him. Slipping an arm around Teyla's shoulders, he pulled her against him as tears formed in his eyes. He could lose them. "They aren't taking you," he whispered as he leaned his head against hers. "I won't let them."
"This is pretty shitty, George," Jack said to his old friend. "Does the IOA really think they're going to get away with breaking up families?"
"I don't know, Jack," Hammond said as he sadly shook his head. He took a deep breath and gave them all a look. "I'm sure all of you have a lot of things to discuss. I'll leave you to it. There's a briefing in the morning."
As Maggie stood and walked Hammond to the front door, everyone fell silent and looked at each other. It seemed none of them knew what to say. With a shaky breath, Evan kept a hold of his wife as he looked at over at their son. This couldn't be happening.
Clearing her throat, Cait leaned forward a bit and looked toward the front door. Once she saw Hammond was gone, she looked at the rest of them. "Lets steal the city and take it back ourselves," she said. When the rest of them looked at her, she shrugged. "The people at this table has taken care of that city for over five years. We stopped the Wraith from culling Earth. It's more our city than it is the IOA's, and it's our place to take her home. Personally, I'm sick of the IOA running our lives and it's time for us to take a stand."
