Daniel found himself shaking his head as all of them talked about sneaking their pets into the city. Looking at John, he gave him a small smile. Daniel had never had any pets while he was growing up since one of his foster siblings had been allergic. He wondered if John would be interested in getting some sort of pet.
He was going to ask but stopped when Hammond suddenly showed up. Daniel had known the other man long enough to know when something was going on. Shifting in his chair, he looked at the older man. "What's going on?" he asked.
"I just got out of a meeting with the IOA. There's been a change in plans," Hammond said with a frown.
"What sort of change?" Cameron asked as he gave Sam a worried look. All of them knew the IOA couldn't be trusted most of the time.
Hammond continued to stand there and looked at all of them. "Atlantis won't be returning to the Pegasus galaxy," he said. "The IOA is going to take it over and reassign most of you to different posts."
"You're kidding, right?" Daniel asked, his eyes wide. "Atlantis doesn't belong on Earth. It belongs in Pegasus."
"I know, Daniel," Hammond quietly said with a deep sigh. "I tried to talk some sense into them but they didn't want to listen to reason. They say Atlantis now belongs to them and all of you have two weeks to finish with the repairs and hand her over."
