Gale: Net Post
I've read so many stories of great ships traversing the stars but certainly never predicted that I, myself, would be catapulting through Wildspace aboard one such vessel. Divination always was my weakest school of magic. Hail and well met, I am Gale of Waterdeep; wizard by passsion and profession and, most recently added to my curriculum vitae, quartermaster for magical items that might assist anyone in the field. I have my spellbook with me, thank the Weave, so if you have need of magical artifice I'll see what I can do to assist you.

I suspect I will be spending the next week in the library reading everything I can about...all of this.

Right. There seems to be some misunderstanding-- genteel as in respectable and refined, an antonym of uncouth. My point was that wizardry is not, in fact, uncouth, but perhaps I'll defer to the subjectivity of opinion! I'm afraid I answer questions one at a time. It's a terribly genteel habit I've picked up. Hazard of my uncouth profession, unfortunately.

i have a habit of overdefending myself. old habits and all that. no one back home would call me either respectable or refined. i react badly.

alright, more important question. do you know blood magic? if not, are you willing to at least help me with my project? especially if you have any affinity towards enchantments.

Rest assured I have a baseline level of respect for all wizards, even those I disagree with. The Art is most difficult to master, so I respect anyone who dedicates their lives to it. As for your question-- most of what I know of hemocraft is tied to the school of necromancy. Considered unsavory by many, though I try not to pass so swift a judgment. When you say enchantment, do you mean the influence of sentient will to beguile and entrance or the infusion of magicks into inanima?

i'm told i brag, and am too full of myself and inevitably someone, somewhere frowns at it but honestly; it's never been hard for me.

we don't have any followers of rathma on board, so necromancy is out.

the latter. i can do enchantments but i haven't done blood magic. it's tied to demons back home, intrinsically so, and i'm far too good for them so i haven't had an opportunity to study it.

Well, I'd be an awful quartermaster if I couldn't make the items I've been enlisted to provide. I call it artifice. Scrolls and alchemical precipitates are elementary products of the practice. Talismans, such as magical weapons and armor and rings and the like require a lot more time and money to create. I'm not entirely sure how I'll go about those yet, but I figure scrolls and elixirs will be plenty for now.
