Do you ever think to yourself nothing could surprise you anymore and then the universe (the universes, actually) says, “LOL you thought”? Because, yeah. I’m having that happen again being here. Not that I was here before in this exact same scenario. But I’ve been in the one where nothing can surprise me and then it does. Probably some kind of universal humility thing, but mostly it’s just all kinds of !!! and a lot of 😧😧😧 Because I don’t think picking a few things up at the bodega down the street needs to be humbled? But then I’m here instead of there saying hi to the bodega cat and picking up chips and milk and bread and stuff.

And being here, I’ve got questions.

~~1. I saw something about Mr. Stark? If he’s here, does that mean~~

1. What’s a floating intern? I know what an intern is but is this one floating because SPACE or floating like I’ll be in different areas of the science department? Both are cool for the record.

2. To my roommates, Ginny and Nico, are there rules I should know? More than the obvious ones like pick up your mess and change the toilet paper roll and put the toilet seat and lid down.

3. People randomly get powers here??? What? How?

4. What do people do for fun? If there’s jobs, there’s fun, right? So are there movie nights or game nights?

5. Is there anything I should really, really know in general? The orientation and your stuff was great, but any insider tips and tricks for living here?

Oh it makes sense. My boyfriend -- Harry, the one with the glasses -- was worried about being pulled out into space somehow when we first got here. I can't say my mind went there, but I get why others might.

I think they're mostly just common sense. If you make a mess, clean it up. Don't eat someone else's food. If you bring people over, don't let them trash the place. Avoid playing loud music in the middle of the night if others are sleeping. That sort of thing. Though, honestly, I can just cast a muffling charm with the music, so it's not an issue for me. Can't speak for Nico!

The pool has both. There's one for swimming, one for diving, and another that looks more like a lagoon or a lake where you can just hang out. No slide, but I bet that would be a welcomed addition if you wanted to ask about it.

Holodecks are.....science-y? I don't know how they work, really. But you basically can program it and visit places. Like we played a game that's popular at home, but I programmed it (with help!) to look like the pitch at my boarding school. And people have done rollercoasters and stuff, too. It's like a simulation, I guess. But everything is real? Or at least convincing enough to fool you into forgetting it isn't.

Oh that sounds ~~way too much like~~ interesting! I wonder if it works similarly to this one thing at home. I doubt they’d let me figure that out but it’s cool it’s available!

That's almost exactly what he said. You two should meet, you'll probably get along great.

A pool party sounds like a great idea. It is summer....not that you can tell in space.

My suggestion: ask. The crew seems willing to let us help out however we can, and mostly happy to answer and questions we have. I'm sure someone can tell you exactly how it works and maybe how similar it is to what you have at home.
