Network Post :: Peter Parker
Do you ever think to yourself nothing could surprise you anymore and then the universe (the universes, actually) says, “LOL you thought”? Because, yeah. I’m having that happen again being here. Not that I was here before in this exact same scenario. But I’ve been in the one where nothing can surprise me and then it does. Probably some kind of universal humility thing, but mostly it’s just all kinds of !!! and a lot of 😧😧😧 Because I don’t think picking a few things up at the bodega down the street needs to be humbled? But then I’m here instead of there saying hi to the bodega cat and picking up chips and milk and bread and stuff.

And being here, I’ve got questions.

1. I saw something about Mr. Stark? If he’s here, does that mean

1. What’s a floating intern? I know what an intern is but is this one floating because SPACE or floating like I’ll be in different areas of the science department? Both are cool for the record.

2. To my roommates, Ginny and Nico, are there rules I should know? More than the obvious ones like pick up your mess and change the toilet paper roll and put the toilet seat and lid down.

3. People randomly get powers here??? What? How?

4. What do people do for fun? If there’s jobs, there’s fun, right? So are there movie nights or game nights?

5. Is there anything I should really, really know in general? The orientation and your stuff was great, but any insider tips and tricks for living here?

Oh yeah! Hi! I’m Peter Parker. Nice to meet everyone. 😃

You're not wrong, but it is it anymore than the things we normally see?

I guess it depends on what we’re considering normal. What’s the parameters? Because I’ve never been kidnapped by the multiverse, but I’ve seen it happen, but because I’ve seen it happen, I don’t know that it also happened on a space ship with a bunch of other people. And you said we does that mean you know me But then there’s the talking raccoon so the bar isn’t so much a bar as a rope held at varying intervals. Maybe more of a bell curve situation.

This is a little different than being kidnapped by the multiverse, but I'm probably not the best person to explain it. But what I'm getting out of that is the multiverse has gotten much more complicated at home than the last I remember.

The talking raccoon is one level below the talking and walking tree.

What do you remember? Do you know the giant statue thing in the Indian Ocean?

Yeah but he’s basically a space Ent. Younger than Treebeard for sure, and way more action and less long drawn out conversations, but still basically an Ent from space.

...No. I don't remember a giant status in the Indian Ocean. What statue?

What I remember was about six months after we were all brought back, around the time Sam took over as Captain America. But technically, I've been away from home since right after Germany. It's not consistent, but some of us get memory updates every now and then.

Treebeard could at least hold a full conversation. A slow one, but a full one.

I don’t know it’s like this head and hand rising from the ocean. There’s theories on the internet about it, but I don’t know what it is. Whoever knows wasn’t talking when I was home.

You get memory updates? Like just downloaded into your head? That sounds so weird and scary and painful. And wow Germany. You’ve been in this situation awhile huh?

I think the little tree guy can! I don’t speak his language but his friends seemed to. It’d be cool to learn it. I bet he’s seen some cool stuff.

It just appeared one day? Not the water receding and it was underneath?

There are different ways people get them, but for me, it was almost like dreams or waking up with a rush of memories of events from home. A headache usually followed, but it's not otherwise painful. A while, yeah. Did they tell you about Atlantis when you got here? A lot of us were there for several years, and a group volunteered for this mission. We've on the ship for a few months.

A tree in space, he probably has seen a lot.

Yeah it was just like there? I don’t know if it was kind of how volcanos are and got pushed to the surface or what happened. But it’s just there? And it’s like the least of anyone’s problems I guess? Like with all the aliens and robots and blipping and unblipping and other craziness I think there’s just a desensitized attitude. It’s there. We don’t know why (ok I don’t, but I’ve been busy and can’t afford the airfare to Asia right now. It’d be cool to go but life’s expensive omg why does no one tell you that?!) but unless it’s going to attack at this point I think most of us are just accepting it as a fact of life.

That’s so weird! Not bad weird unless the memories are all bad. And they did but I kind of was in sensory overload mode with everything going on.

Probably. I’d like to know what space adventures he’s gotten into!

Someone, somewhere knows, but it's not a surprise they're keeping it need to know. Unless they actively try keeping people away, it'll probably become an attraction.

Everything with Thanos wasn't the best, but everything hasn't been all bad. Atlantis was like here in that it's out of traditional time and space, but instead of a spaceship, it was an island.
