Infectious Happiness
Who: Mia
When: Morning, June 3rd [VACATION DAY]
Where: Mia's room in Green
What: Mia wakes up and things are odd. As if that's unusual for her.
Mia rolled over in her bed, cuddling her pillow close to her body like any child who had ever complained to Momma for five more minutes. Inside her head, things were moving still, softly, easily shifting along with her mental wind. Phoenix had started the motion of things by consistently dabbling in Mia's mental landscape. The red hills had softened and turned green in places, the glass and metal towers representing her memories became sturdier, resistant to the violence of her need to protect herself from pain.
"Hmm..." she muttered in her half asleep state. Her eyes moved behind lids open just a fraction. The motion inside her head slowed as a fragment, little more than a sliver slipped into place and her eyes slipped open as she yawned.
A pair of wings appeared at her back. One pristine white, the other coal black. They appeared as nothing more than illusions and then disappeared again as she sat up in bed. With a stretch, she looked at her room. The television was still playing, a kiddie show at this time in the morning. A smile swept across her face and she rocked softly back and forth, pulling her knees up to her chest. Her apparitions were gone.
They might reappear again if she were in great distress, but their time had passed. She was working her way toward being a big girl, capable of handling things on her own.
The television show came to an end and Mia moved from in front of her television to breakfast, humming to herself the tune of the cartoon itself. At least it wasn't Maragritaville.
That happy mood was what she would later take out into the world of Revolve and inflict on her fellow prisoners.
