I saw the ad on my flist in the promo communities for a while, and it always made me cringe, but I didn't say anything, despite being Jewish and it pinging on a part of my cultural history. You know why? Because there's so much racial, sexist, homophobic shit out there, it's not only my Jewish, queer and feminist identities that get pinged constantly--no one is able to react to all of it.

Some of us are reacting to this part of the daily deluge of hate we experience now and giving it our attention because someone we know pointed it out to us now and we noticed, "yeah that really is a thing of suckage making our lives yuckier." And yes, now that you mention it, I really hate seeing that ad come up on my flist day after day.

So, if you don't change the name and we keep seeing this crap coming up on our flists, we're going to mock you, and mock you a lot. it's not like you give a shit about the rest of us, so why are you bothering to complain?

1- I'm not a member of the Asylum Promo comm. Although, I used to be.

2- I just found out about this via a friend.

3- The name has been changed.

People replied because they found the name of the community offensive. The fact that there's more than one of us, and that many of us learned about it from people who were offended, does not make it less offensive. It also doesn't make us sheep.

Again, you fail to see my point - there ARE PEOPLE WHO SAID THEY HAD SEEN IT REPEATEDLY AND JUST NOW COMMENTED. Yes, that makes them sheep in my opinion. I'm not saying EVERYONE, I'm saying a fair amount, a small amount, WHOEVER saw this posted daily and chose now as the time to express their concern. This game has been jumped on, and to be quite honest, we're not neo-Nazis or anything of the sort, the mods are nice people and no one hates the Jewish. In fact, I myself have Jewish relatives - my Grandmother's surname was Horowitz. The point is exactly as I had stated. People did jump on and basically admit it and all of this was entirely unnecessary, as in the FAQ there is a place to comment the mods if the name was bothersome.
