Josh yawned as he trudged down the hallway after the mass of lab coat and blue that was Dr. Hank. The last time he'd been here with Dr. Hank, it had been 1963, and he'd been too young for the clinic to let him try any real healing. This time around, though, Dr. Hank had already set him on four different cases this morning, and Josh wasn't even all the way awake yet. Bobby was here too, somewhere, folding linens or something.
Part of him just wanted to be back at the Institute, curled up under his blankets or maybe messing around with one of his new gadgets or games from Christmas. The rest of him was actually gratified that Dr. Hank seemed to be getting more serious with his training, just like Ms. Emma. Josh suppressed another yawn. And hadn't there been some buzz about this clinic being shut down? Maybe he should ask about that.
As Josh opened his mouth to inquire, a rather different topic surfaced in his slowly-waking mind--that girl. The one he'd tried to heal last time, and failed. For awhile he'd tried to put it out of his mind, especially if there was a chance she was already dead. Back in the hospital like this, though, the memory was difficult to ignore.
"Uh, Dr. Hank..." Josh fidgeted with the visitor badge clipped to his shirt. "I wanted to ask you something. Some things. About cancer."
