I know the site has had some issues lately. The main thing being that the site sometimes times out during peak times. I have identified what has happened, and to fix it, I am going to need to rebuild all of the webservers. This may take me a week or two to complete. I am going to continue doing what I can to keep things running (rebooting the servers every few days seems to keep it under control).

As far as the other issues, here is the list of known site issues. I will work on them as time permits.

* directory.bml hangs searching
* Comments still seem to be disappearing.
* Edit userpics page loading slowly for users with lots of userpics (Firefox is still slow but won't timeout and give an error as a temporary workaround)
* Adding friends via the admin console causes custom groups to get emptied
* Joining a closed membership asylum
* Timezones on update page not reflecting change in DST in United Stats
* align= and border= options in image tags being striped by the HTML cleaner
* lynx sitescheme warning
* blank preview page
* Sometimes not able to change custom colors
* stats/stats.txt not updating
* cannot log in with blackberry

Now as far as some of the criticism that has been posted here. I have simply not had the time to dedicate to the big issue of comment rot on the site. I know it is a huge problem, and I have done some tracing, and am getting close to pinpointing the problem, and once that is done, I am sure it will be something simple to fix.

Please don't feel that I have been ignoring these issues to work on other things like the sitescheme. The work on these has been done by our volunteers and takes only a few minutes of my time to implement them.

Also, do not feel that I have been ignoring all the comments, I have read them all but I just have not had the time recently to respond to comments. I will try to do better to make the time to do this.

    Further to lovestoned's comment about disappearing icons:

    I can verify I'm seeing that too. Several userpics in my collection are showing up as broken links. I can detail them later if you wish, but it starts with the "Snooch Ghee hee hee!" one...

    Squeaky, this is just another little note to let you know that you're awesome. I can see that a lot of people are impatient and/or angry with certain things about the site, but I have a feeling that those people have never tried admin'ing a site that, almost literally overnight, had an exponential increase in its user base. You had a lot dumped in your lap within a very short period of time, and from what I've read, you weren't exactly prepared for it (which is not a point against you; I don't think anyone had any way of knowing how successful the mass exodus from 'that other site' was going to be). Personally, I think you have done, and are continuing to do an excellent job of keeping things running, all things considered. God knows you're doing a better job of it than I ever could. So keep your head up, do your thing, and remember that there are a lot of us who are behind you and your efforts 100%.

    When are you going to answer private/abuse requests? I've been waiting weeks on two tickets now and that's unacceptable.

    While obviously the site loads (as I am able to leave this comment) is there any reason that it's so slow and is consistently loading blank white pages? This isn't a recent issue. It's been happening for weeks now and I personally haven't noticed any improvements.

    Ack! I'm not getting comment notification e-mails for comments made in my journal, instead only those made to posts I've made in an asylum.

    I just wanted to let you know that I don't get any e-mail notification since you've worked on the data base yesterday.
    And when I click on a link on my f-list site everything goes black and I see nothing.

    Oh,I'm on googlemail.That's Gmail.It has just another name here in Germany.

    This may have been brought to your attention, not sure, but if it has please ignore! But every time we update our consoles/friends list all of our customs have to be fixed because it deletes our friends filters we have set up. Its just a pain in the butt to have to remake your filters every time you update your console.

    Getting 'user style's not loading' message, pages are only half-loading (all other websites are loading in their entirety), and when I try to view the friend page, its timing out. This isn't just on my journal, but comm journals, too. IF it does load, its saying the database is busy, so I'm just going to guess that something's being worked on. I just wanted to let ya know. :)

    BTW, thanks Squeaky, for all the work you've done on IJ, despite the probs now and then!

    I'm not getting comment notifications as well--i'd say maybe 1/4 are being e-mailed, if I'm lucky. This started after the downtime yesterday. It also took me 4 tries to even get this page to load to post this comment, and other websites are loading fine.

    I realize that you are working on the site and its' problems but you know, Squeaky, if I had a nickel for every time something went wrong with IJ or it was down, I'd be able to reimburse my own paid accounts.

    I've seen the error "this part of the site is down for maintenance. try again in a few minutes." for weeks now. is this gonna be fixed soon? it's kinda getting old, not to be rude. it just limits my commenting and viewing comments constantly.

    It's happening again; the old problems that me and Mug have only experienced --> Can't post to communities because IJ switches our logged-in journal to a previous/logged-out-journal. And randomly, the last five newest comments disappear, never old comments.

    But the comment problem has only happened twice, and I don't mind comment rot; but I'd like to post to communities and my own journal with no problems. We're still not experiencing the other problems, which is a good thing.

    i keep getting errors all the time even when i log out I get an error about it. also you keep saying you are going to work on fixing the problems on the site but i dont see anything being fixed
