Despite everything going on with Remus, Lily still went ahead with the memorial as planned. It was a short, small affair, with just pictures and etcetera set up since there was 'no body'. People would've been invited to speak about James.

There would've been light food and refreshments served afterward.

They will not be under the influence of truth serum, nor will they be imperius'd, merely brought into a small room on the Minister's floor at their assigned meeting time, where they will face a panel of the Minister himself, his undersecretaries (Lucius and Regulus), two advisers and a scribe (taking notes). How you have your character reply is, of course, entirely up to you! (PS! No one is being fired unless it has been previously discussed!) Also, please assume that in between times are filled by non-specified people. TO THOSE ON SICK/MAT LEAVE, your interview time would've been owled to you by the Minister's office; you'd have to contest it to get out with your job in tact :)
