The Wedding of Rosalind Jugson
After the ceremony, champagne and hors-d'oeuvres were served in the garden. There was no mistaking Rosalind and Augustus' happiness as they mingled with their guests, accepting their best wishes. Pictures of the newlyweds and their guests were also taken at that time.
A mid-afternoon dinner was served at 4pm in the ballroom, which opened onto the garden. Seafood was on the menu, in honour of the Rookwoods' coastal roots. Opening with a salad, the guests were next offered a choice between scallops on a squash and a plate of fish with asparagus and tomatoes.
The white and chocolate brown theme continued with the wedding cake, a four-tier affair that was not only chocolate in colour but in flavour as well. Faithful to the tradition, Augustus and Rosalind cut the first piece together. After dinner, the newlyweds shared their first dance, soon joined on the floor by their guests. Rosalind also danced with her father, her brother and with the best man, Orsino, while Augustus did the same with Rosalind's mother as well as with the matron of honour, Narcissa, and with her cousin the bridesmaid. |

By early evening, Rosalind and Augustus bid goodbye to their family and guests and took a personal portkey directly to the villa in Provence where they would spend their honeymoon. |
