Who: Gabrielle Delacour, Fleur Delacour, Lisa Turpin, and Allyson Turpin
What: Gabby is sad without Lisa
When: In the future, post-Hogwarts
Where: Delacour estate in France
Rating: NC-17
It had been years since she had graduated Hogwarts, and now Gabrielle was in her twenties. She lived at Delacour Manor on the family estate with her older sister and both of the Turpin sisters. After a brief time, the two older sisters from each family had hit it off and soon wed. Children had started coming soon after, two daughters and a adopted boy for Fleur and Allyson. They were living the dream...happy dream...Gabrielle's dream.
As she watched the children play in the park from where she stood milling about, she reflected on her own life rather then be jealous of what her sister had. All her plans for the bright future she had envisioned for her and Lisa had never came true. As soon as Lisa graduated she had gone to work for the same place...thing...that Allyson worked at. But the difference between Allyson and Lisa was that Allyson actually came home. The older Turpin was home at least once a week, while Lisa she might see once a month if she was lucky.
They were still together, but she was dating a ghost. Gabrielle had thought that they would be married by now, but conversations with Lisa had no room for talk of marriage. Whenever Lisa was home, her stays were brief and her 'work talk' with Allyson dominated discussions. Fleur was too busy looking after the children to be much company. In instances like now, she was the one tasked with getting the kids out of the house so the mommies could have alone time. She missed Lisa, but the Lisa she missed was the one she had gone to school with. She didn't know the modern Lisa at all, all she saw was a stranger.
"Are these your children? They are lovely," remarked a stately elderly woman with her husband walking by. "Non, zey are not. I am only looking after zem," Gabby responded with a indifferent shrug.
The old woman turned away to face her husband them, muttering something about 'just hired help' and 'old maid who probably couldn't have children of her own'. Gabrielle said nothing, not letting on that her acute Veela hearing had overheard. Sighing, she felt even worse about herself. Over the past year and a half she had begun to feel worse and worse, and she had all but disappeared in the bonds the two couples shared. There were always dark circles under her eyes and she had stopped being the immaculate poster child of beauty. She didn't bother to comb her hair anymore, just left it down and messy or up in a haphazard bun. The woman she had become just didn't care anymore.
"Let uz go home. Come children," she insisted, taking them home to the manor. Once there she turned them over to the houseelves, then went to the courtyard garden that the manor's wings encircled. Each step felt like her last, and once she reached a quiet spot near a large flowering tree she laid down at it's feet on her side. She did not close her eyes, only gave a blank, sad stare at the grass in front of her face.
