Remus tapped the map again. It was spread across the coffee table, and the area had already been well-chosen as being remote. A teacup sat atop the map: the portkey. He tapped his foot nervously and tried not to look at the clock again. They weren't late yet, but it wouldn't hurt for Remus to have a plan in case they didn't show. At some time he would have to leave without them and chance the wilderness on his own. The risk was far, far greater on his own. In fact, he really shouldn't take it. Who knew whether there were people living in that remote wilderness? Remus tapped the map again, this time at the nearby town of Blairnamarrow, Scotland. The Cairngorms were desolate. Lock Aven was buried deep within the snow-capped bens of the Highlands. Remus could risk it alone, he decided. There would be little there aside from deer.
Still, he didn't believe he would be alone. It was hard, on a full moon, to keep his spirits up and to look on the bright side. He wouldn't be alone, he repeated to himself. He glanced at the glock again and tapped the map nervously.
