Thread: PROM, BITCHES!
Who: Everyone and their mother better show their faces to this party or else. OH! And please add your own tag when commenting, por favor!
When: Friday Night, 8:00 pm
Where: School Gym
What: Uh, prom?
OOC Notes: Much like the picnic thread, there will be multiple threads available for people to comment with so we can try and keep the thread as orderly as possible. If you find that your thread is dying, feel free to jump in else where and cause any sorts of mayhem you want! Remember, these are kids, so trying to spike the punch bowl is completely legal and allowed in game play. Just don't come crying to Kimberly when Logan catches you.
Things were better for Kimberly. Much better. She'd told her mother to shove it, which, well, was beyond amazing to her. Everyone had pitched in to help get the treats, food, drinks and decorations ready, and Kimberly was more than thankful. She would definitely be working on sending out small thank you notes to everyone.
The gym had been transformed into a sparkling, glowing area of balloons, streamers, soft lighting, and a few decorative fountains. Rounde tables, much like the ones used for Peter and MJ's reception, were setup around the gym, leaving enough room in the middle of the gym to allow the students and chaperones to dance. There was already loud music playing, the DJ keeping the music fun, yet enjoyable for everyone of all ages. She wasn't about to let him play explicit music even if most of the younger children weren't present.
Each table, which comfortably sat eight, were done up with medium blue, cloth table linens and pearlescent overlays. In the center of each table sat glass globes filled with colored marbles, water, and two floating candles that resembled silver stars. Silver star glitter graced the outside of the bowl, on the table top to give it an extra bit of sparkle. There were no place settings or numbered tables, as it wasn't necessary. There weren't that many senior-level students, but that didn't stop Kimberly from making it quite an extravagant evening.
Against each wall were longer tables, dressed much like the round tables, that held the food, punch bowls, plastic wear, plates and cups. Fred had been truly amazing as usual, making all sorts of yummy finger foods for the event. Scattered around each of the long tables were the candy bags Kitty, Aubrey, and so many others had worked to fill with red and blue M&M's. Kimberly had even gone so far as to have Xavier Class 2008 monogramed on the chocolate candies in white lettering.
Things seemed to be going well, so far. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, and that was really all that mattered to Kimberly. They had gone through so much, and had seen so many bad things in the past couple of months, that she wanted everyone to have a good time. The Memorial Day picnic was definitely a moral booster, and so was the Parker wedding. It had been worth all the minor stress and trouble, she had decided. Not to mention, everyone looked amazing in their costumes. Well, those that decided to wear costumes.
