WHO: Lavender Brown, Harold Dingle
WHEN: June 28, 2005 | afternoon
WHERE: Fortesque's in Diagon
WHAT: Some not so legal conversation
RATING: Low? Idk
Lavender knew that if she had told any of her friends what she was up to they would all tell her to stop. There was something peaceful about not having to wonder if you were making a bad decision or not. There was no guess work for her. But sitting in St. Mungos for a month and a half had given her plenty of time to think, after all, it was the only thing she had available to her. Mostly she had thought about Michael and Isaac and the mess that she'd been steeped in before she went into the hospital. Some things were clear to her- she wouldn't let a man disrespect her the way Isaac had done, not again. Her feelings for Michael were stupid to deny. But she was also pretty sure she'd screwed things up too much- she just held onto the conversation in which he'd admitted that the possibility of sleeping together was still there. For her it wasn't about the sex though and that scared her more than any of it.
But even for Lavender Brown, thinking about your love life can only be so entertaining. For all of the bitterness she'd had in her during that stay, her thoughts soon turned to that instead. She had already been resolved to be more active in stopping Cedric's father from his totalitarian rule but now it was personal. There had been plenty of weirdos in Mungos and while she wasn't allowed many days of interaction with other patients in her ward, she was allowed enough. One particular patient had informed her of just how dangerous the potions they gave them were. In fact if you altered a few ingredients they were explosive, highly explosive. He'd started to go off about non-dairy creamer (whatever the hell that was) after that but each day she tried to get him to tell her more about the potions. Eventually she knew enough. And had a month's supply.
Of course, the few ingredients to change the chemistry of the anti-depressant potions weren't exactly readily available. She'd done a bit of research and sure enough, they were down right illegal. Lavender wasn't going to let anything get in her way of taking action though. Not even Michael's arrest. The only thing she could do to distract her from the blinding fear that he would meet the same end Terry had was to focus on her plans. They were plans she had intended on sharing with him but they couldn't be delayed because of his arrest.
The sun was shinging brightly in Diagon Alley, it was fairly surprising given London's weather, but she grinned as she felt it on her hair and skin. It was a good day for an ice cream cone. A couple of ice cream cones, she reminded herself. Despite the fact that she was doing something incredibly stupid, she was at least trying to do it safely. There was no doubt that she would be safer with Dingle (if that was his name) out in the open than down Knockturn Alley. There was more of a risk of being over heard as well but it was one she was willing to take.
