who: Bobby and Tabitha
when: Thursday morning
where: Classroom before class starts
what: It's time for this week's installment of the Bobby and Boom Boom Comedy Hour. This episode: my broho, my ... lover?
This was why Bobby Drake hated his morning classes. They were all so close together that even if he tried to socialize or loiter in the halls he still made it to class early. IT wasn't like a normal high school at Xavier's with dozens of classrooms, lots of bodies, and endless hallways to traverse. Many of Bobby's classes stayed in the same room or just moved one over between courses, providing him with boring social time at his desk as he awaited class to start. Usually, he'd whine in the back with Tabitha or make fun of things with John. Today, Tabitha was catching his attention. She had a lot the past few weeks.
They'd always been great friends, ever since her failed escape attempt years ago left her dropped off right in front of him and the two bonded over their juvenile name-calling and bitching. At first, Bobby had misassumed that their connection might be love but that had been quickly dismissed by both parties early on. So for the past few years, she had simply been one of his greatest and most entertaining friends. But things had been different recently. After his talk with Tandy in the infirmary and other people's misconceptions that the two had been dating, plus her emotional grief that he saw when she had thought he was dying, Bobby had started to look at Tabitha differently. Started to look at her like when they first met, wondering if something else was there.
Bobby himself was unsure how his feelings were. He had taken Jubilee to prom and was really interested in her. Ali was really attractive to him, too. Kitty had kissed him and it was no big thing, but maybe it was? There was a part of him that still watched Rogue out of the corner of his eye even though he felt like that bridge had been burned too many times to safely cross. As usual, Bobby had a long list of girls he liked. It was simply unusual for Tabitha to not only be on that list again, but near the top. The room was noisy, the junior class always up to something, and Bobby figured now in the back of the room with some time to kill might be a good time to go fishing for information. "...so! ...how 'bout those finals?" Lame, Robert.
