RP: Forced Labor
Who: Open to all groups (feel free to put individual threads)
When: morning, January 10
Where: Inside the camp
What: There's work to be done

- Their work day started at around 8am
- They had assigned jobs, but the T800 didn't particularly care which human did what job, so if two people switch job, as long as the job gets done, there's no problem. The group can notice that it's how the people in the resistance communicate, with Derek switching through different groups to talk to everyone he needs to
- Jobs are usually heavy jobs with little rest. It's obvious that some of the strongest people help the weaker ones so that they don't get punished/killed. Some jobs might be moving equipment and/or supplies, fixing things around camp.
- While most of the T800 are metal only there are a few that look humanoid. Cameron is one of them. It's the reason that the resistance would ask any new prisoner to cut their hand to show blood. There are also human collaborators, so trust isn't easy to come by.
- Most of the prisoners are underfed. With soil only being viable for a few years, no central organization and no infrastructure, there are few vegetables and/or fruit. Typical meal would be things like rat or lizard stew, insect soup with lots of hot water for warmth and liquids, a few potatoes for substance and whatever random proteins they can find.
- People in Steve's group would have been told to eat and pretend that they are used to this since they are trying to blend in and get the resistance to trust them.

Marcus/Open- Fixing whatever needed it

Marcus frowned. He was assigned to fix whatever the terminators "deemed" needed fixing and a few other prisoners were assigned to the same area. He sighed and bent down, somewhat looking over his shoulder before bending down and turning the wrench on Skynet's latest crappy invention.

A few others looked like Resistance but not sure how'd they react to him yet. His mind was more on more human he was than most of the terminators here, he was just a human with metal parts is all.

He finally started to accept that he would never be like the terminators.

He looked over at the others "You got plans?"

Ariel had no idea where she'd fit and the answer was apparently: nowhere. People looked at her strangely when she spoke or when she tried to help. She wasn't sure what she was doing wrong and no one seemed to be able to tell her how to change.

She had tried moving boxes, but the gauntlet didn't give her extra strength. She ended up on kitchen duty but those were short, because 'meals' was a misnomer. It was big pots of water and things served twice a day.

So now she was supposed to- Well, she wasn't sure. She looked up at Marcus. "My plan is to figure out what we're even meant to do."

In a small motion of compassion, Marcus eyed Ariel "Listen, I felt like you at one time. Being left out of everything, being stared at because you feel different even though you are not.

Marcus slipped her a small piece of ration. "I don't need it. You need to eat. You can't starve."

"We are supposed to be fixing things that our "robot overlords" deem they need fixed.

Keep pretending to work. If they hurt you, I can at least pull them off you.

Ariel almost said that it was different, but then she thought about it and it really wasn't different at all. "It's hard, isn't it? When you don't quite fit somewhere. It's even worse when I'm afraid that I will make people suspicious. I'm not sure I know how to be different."

She shook her head. "It's very kind, but I couldn't take it. I've had the food," she said, making a face at the idea of what passed for food. Even bread didn't taste like the warm bread she would have at the castle. "I'm sure there are plenty of people who need it more than I do."

Ariel sighed. "I've never seen machines like these. I have no idea what 'fixed' means, but you can tell me what to do and do it." There was oil and rags and her poor hands would be completely ruined after this.

Marcus nodded, trying to lower his voice "I'll let you in on something, back home, only four members of the Resistance accepted me into their group. Even when John accepted me, the other Resistance members were weary or still hated me.

He looked over Ariel's clothing style. "I never was royalty. My life was much like these others. But I can give you a tip, perhaps you can blend in with the common citizens and help when needed. You are still part of the Resistance just... in different ways."

Marcus looked up, his hands sort of covered in bits of oil "Fixing is when you fix vehicles that break down except this is for the enemy's good not for ours.

See that, I might not be from this timeline? But here? That's a H-K or Hunter Killer we are fixing.

"That seems rather short-sighted of them," she said with a frown. "I know what you've said on the bus, but you're nothing like these things here, and anyone who's seen them would know."

She sighed. "I even tried to copy the clothing style, picking a larger shirt to hide the gauntlet," she said lowering her voice. I still don't sound like everyone else, but I appreciate any help you can give me. I don't want to ruin it for everyone."

Ariel giggled. "Thank you for that, but I know what fix mix, but I'm not sure how to fix things, because I've never seen machines like this." She looked at him with a smirk. "Maybe we can fix them so they break. Can you teach me that?"

"I think that's more doable. Just don't need to let our "generous" robot hosts know that we are "fixing" their machines.

Marcus bent down "I used to work with electronics all the time, so working with Skynet's army should be fun to break.

Marcus bent down, grabbing a siding of the HK and pulling it up, luckily the machine was "dead" in it's tracks so it was unable to figure out what and who was ripping it apart.

Ariel smiled and looked down at the parts in front of her. She watched what other people did and took a cloth to oil the parties in front of her. She knew that any sabotage couldn't be obvious or everyone would get punished for it. "I don't even know how to. You'll have to show me when we get to that part."

She could see that he was ready to fight. "Just remember that we have to go slow. Anything too obvious will get these people killed and we don't want that." Still, she looked with interest at what Marcus was doing.

"What is that? What does it do?" There were so many machines here and she didn't know what anything did, except for the big walking ones: the terminators. Those were pretty obvious.

Marcus made it cautious enough to say to Ariel and the others "The machine here is a H-K or a Hunter-Killer. Basically a giant sky flier. It has giant motors on it, and plasma rifles on it. However most terminators like this cannot "see" and have blind spots on it. It's "blind" right now and cannot see any of us.

Those eyes, if they go out fully they are fully "dead."

Marcus sighed as he quietly looked at the others.

"That one I've seen before."

"Right, flying killer machine." The name was less relevant. "How do they normally see? John said that the terminators use motions and body heat. How about these ones?" She supposed that every being had a blind spot. You couldn't see everywhere. Even humans couldn't see behind them.

Ariel frowned. "You've seen what before? I'm a little confused." She wasn't even sure why they cared if the eyes were completely dead. Then again, she knew that Marcus had a tendency of giving you only part of the information and assumed that you knew the rest. She didn't know.
