    Right, so that Roman bloke has clearly lost his nut and is going to try and murder one or more of the following people:
    • 1. Santa Clause
    • 2. Mrs Clause
    • 3. The Conductor

    In my not-so-humble opinion, the Conductor — wherever they may be — can handle themselves. If Roman thinks he can find Santa, I say we wind him up and watch him go, and then grab him before he can.

    We need someone on Mrs Clause. Ideas?

    I'd also that Elves & Reindeer are at risk of being eaten by this bloke, so that needs taking care of as well. James, wards?

    Nott - Don't know about elemental origin storms, but it is worth asking the Elves if they know where Jack Frost lives, as that is plainly a guy to rule out.

    Who else have we hear talked about that we need ruling out? Let's bring the bastards in.

    You're all on this filter because I know you personally to be useful people with a vested interest in the well-being of innocent people and/or not going against the explicit wishes of the Conductor/bus. If you can vouch for anyone else that fits that, feel free to add them in, but if they end up screwing this shit up in literally any way, I will be holding it against you personally.

    Abigail - seems like you've not got powers but you're added on here because you're a charming girl and I want you to keep abreast of what's going on so you don't get hurt. I also don't want to do you the disservice of assuming you don't have hidden depths that may come in handy here.

    I now yield the floor to my godson, Harry, who I assume is by far the most qualified person to take charge of this bullshit. If Harry doesn't want to trouble himself with it for whatever reason, it's up for grabs.

    If it was just he wanted blood I'd say we'd take turns offering some up, but him having his heart set on murdering some poor bastard does muddy the waters.

    I would say sorry for landing you in it, but if you're anything like either of your parents you'll need to be doing something right now to take your mind off not being at home.

    Anyway, I'm not any good at this being in charge bullshit, and this kind of mess seems right up the alley of what I am sure is the best damn Head Auror the Ministry has ever seen.

Right, well... I offered to let Roman use me as a test subject, since as a non-human my blood might be potent enough to sustain him for longer.

Once we find Santa, he wants to see about getting someone strong enough to potentially stop him to help out, so that he doesn't accidentally kill me.

You're not doing it just the pair of you, though. That would make me fucking furious. You need people around to stop him if he takes too much, for his sake as much as yours — your blood could poison him, we don't know.

And it shouldn't just be you who's doing it, even if you can sustain him longer — you're not the only non-human around who can chip in. My blood's normal magical blood, but he can drink from me if he needs it, I don't mind.

Well, putting myself in harm's way sometimes bothers people. I just figured we're all in this together, you know?

We're thinking of asking Bucky or Loki, since I doubt neither of them would judge me too harshly. And if he does take too much, I know a few healing spells that could hopefully stabilize me — and the only time my blood ever poisoned a vampire was when he tried to take it without my permission.

I offered because it seemed like most people weren't thinking about Roman and how this all must be affecting him — he's my friend and I wanted to help him. Depending on how this experiment goes, maybe we can work out people it should be save for him to feed from.

Harm's there to be gotten in the way of. All the best people understand that.

Loki's a good shout. Haven't met Bucky yet, but if you think he's solid, go for it. Have both of them there, for the first time at least. More caution rather than less. If you're his mate and he accidentally kills you, he's just going to be pushed off the deep end.

Not to brag, but stopping the bold and the brave from bleeding out with healing magic is something out of a speciality of mine. I'd be honoured if you'd have me there.

Seems reasonable to me.

Loki seems to be a good guy, and Bucky is sweet. Plus, Bucky has that metal arm, and I've heard he's a super soldier. Roman was one of the first people to really get to know me, and I definitely don't want to make things worse for him.

I'll have to ask Roman, but if he's good with it, then I am.

Reasonable... that's not a word I've ever heard applied to me.

Fuck no. You have the power and means to help someone in need. Obviously, you should help them. That's ten times as true when it's someone you care for. What you're doing is smart, and brave, and selfless. Anyone else who tells you differently is ranking their own fear and anxiety about losing you over what's good and right.

Alright, I definitely need to meet the guy with the metal arm.

I've got my orders to introduce myself to Roman and try and make friends with him, so I'll be doing that tomorrow. Remus — Moony — suggested it. He seems to think I won't make a hash of it. Seems unlikely to me — I and other volatile people don't tend to mix well — but Remus is who does my "sensible" thinking for me, so I'm giving it a shot.

Remus has just gone and told me I wouldn't be me if I went and thought about what I did instead of just doing it, so I wouldn't take too much from it that I'm calling you reasonable.

I've always felt that if my powers can help people, then that's what I should use them for. A lot of the witches I know think that helping non-witch types just invites trouble.

You should ask Bucky if you can meet his pet!

Fuck, that takes me back. I got out of a betrothal my parents were trying to force me into with a very fast literal interpretation of that above saying. Turns out it doesn't matter how fanciable and eligible you are, if you piss on a girl from a second-floor landing, her parents will take their daughter elsewhere. Lest you go feeling bad for the bird — I was thirteen at the time, and she was twenty.
