12:01a	Rules | FAQ | Application | Taken | Contact List | Holds | Drop | Insta-Friends | IC Contact | Wanted Characters PROLOGUE There's an elite boarding school an hour away from San Francisco that's dedicated to the education of children with superpowers: Veritas Academy. Veritas takes these children in and helps them control their gifts - trying to turn them into productive members of society. The lucky few become heroes and villains that are respected and feared the world over, but the rest also have real stories to tell. They are known as businesspeople, lawyers, doctors, academics, nurses, and teachers. They are the people you know, but never stop to truly wonder about. There are success stories and failures that are known everywhere, but not everyone can be Superman. The majority of the students remain virtually unknown to the majority of the public as they go about their everyday jobs and lead their everyday lives. The Veritas Alumni Association decided to follow the trend that had been set by Livejournal, Facebook and MySpace, and set up their own social networking site. It became known as something that old students use to keep in touch with friends, watch their enemies and complain about their everyday lives. Yet in between the complaints, arguments and laughs that the students are having, something is beginning to interrupt their lives: Someone is killing alumni, and no one knows who's going to be next. 10:49a	.... Aidan Aiken, Charles Burke, Ford Carver and Daniel Hill all shared a flat while attending Oxford. The four became best friends over their years at the university. Aidan and Charles were the only two from England, while Ford was from Texas and Daniel was from Oregon. It didn't matter to the four men, they promised each other right after Graduation to have a boys trip once a year, a promise that they kept up even as they had families. On the last trip in the summer of 2008, the men all went to South America where Charles Burke proposed the four men buy a ski resort in Colorado, they decided to do it. They forgot the part where they had to have a conversation with their wives and families, though. However, who passed up the opportunity to live out a dream? These for men? Not a chance. All very successful men who wanted to run something together. While the wives of the men have met before, only the older children have met. As the families all re-located to Copper Mountain, Colorado, some took it well, some didn't. The eldest children were brought in to help run the mountain. It's a change for all of them, and some take it better than others. For the kids still in high school they have private tutors, private instructors, they take classes together from instructors flown in from around the world. They want the kids to have the best education. Those in college have been highly encouraged to attend the University of Denver, a school only a short helicopter ride away, just under two hour drive away. They had a flat not far from campus, but it is important for them to come home, the fathers all want to make sure they are doing well. Mountain life is very different from Austin, London, Newport and New York. Copper Mountain is resort, the same parties they are used to have changed, the people have changed. It's up to the families to see how it goes over, but don't expect extremely fancy parties, this is Summit County, Colorado, you're more likely to see jeans and a t-shirt at a fancy party instead of a designer dress. 10:55a	Links Mod Journal Character List Rules Applications The Village Quidditch Schedule Contact List Friend Button Image Coding Welcome to The Quidditch Village In December 2003, the Ministry of Magic decided to hold a Quidditch Tournament with the old four teams when Harry Potter was a member. All four Hogwarts Teams decided to go, although some notable players were missing as they had died in battle, they still went to Hogwarts on April 14th. It was meant to be a fun way to start a new tradition of bring past players to the Hogwarts Pitch. As Oliver Wood, Marcus Flint, Roger Davies, and Zacharias Smith walked to the center to shake hands, the teams surrounded them in a circle. That's when it happened. To the 28 players standing on the pitch it felt as though the ground had fallen out from beneath them. It was almost like a dream as they landed just outside a village. They all looked around trying to figure out what had happened. Seconds later an old woman who wouldn't show her face walked up to them, some had their wands drawn, some were just watching, some were getting ready to cry. As the old woman opened her mouth to speak, two figures started to walk towards her... "Welcome, it is about time you showed up. We've been waiting for you. Welcome to your new home. You are tasked with completing a tournament and figuring out life here. You all have a room, and a job. Don't worry, time here isn't what you are used to. You will not miss anything from the world you are from. There are two additional players here, they will take their rightful spots on Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. The two who have come in their place will act as substitutes for all four teams." The old woman smiled at them, and the two men flanking her showed their faces... Cedric Diggory and Fred Weasley. Each has been here since their respected deaths, growing to the age they would have been in your world." Each player was quickly assigned a room, a journal to communicate in that also tells them when practice and matches are, and a day job... There is no trading, it is merely what the lives of these 30 Quidditch players now lead... With the promise as soon as a winner is announced they can go home.... Let the Games Start... Or a reasonable facsimile at least. Built over the ruins of the old town, the newly named Prescott Valley has been billed as a shining oasis full of new houses and families. A mere two hour drive from LA, Prescott Valley has cinemas, schools, a mall, several Starbucks... in short, all the amenities you would expect to find in a freshly built town. And one that you wouldn't. Deep below the town, something else has been rebuilt: the Hellmouth. Called to this portal between Earth and the Underworld is the Source, in the body of Cole Turner. In a last ditch effort to win his love back, Cole made a deal to take the Source into his body in exchange for actually getting a body. However, Cole was not as powerful as he thought and his plan to double cross the Source failed. Working with the First, the two Biggest Bads of all time are slowly but surely taking over the town of Prescott Valley, on their way to dominating the world. Tentative news of increased supernatural activity has reached the ears of the Good, however and protectors the likes of the Slayers, the Charmed Ones and others have begun trickling back into the area to investigate. Unbeknownst to most of the Prescott Valleyians, humans have been recruited, lured with promises of power and riches, and slowly the town is decaying again. To entertain it's 'guests', it created a world that, every so often, shifted, but always looked like some sort of resort on earth. In a rare moment of weakness, the King of the Goblins and Ruler of the Underground, Jareth, was taken unawares and brought to the Planet. What followed was an inevitable clash of egos as the powerful fae creature fought with the strange sentient planet. The battle was fierce, and the fallout completely unpredictable. In the end, a new dimension was created, somewhere between Jareth's old home and the dimension occupied by the sentient planet. In this new land, Jareth appears to reign supreme. But can anyone truly rule in a world that was created in such a bizarre and tumultuous way? A few people had been brought along with him in the creation of the new realm, but Jareth decided that anything the Planet could do, he could do better. With that in mind, he began to bring in people from all places and times. Very soon, those who had been brought with him would have company... So it was with the Governors of the school honored Hogwarts' 1400th Anniversary of teaching students with a Tournament the likes the school had not seen since the Triwizard decades before. A champion would be picked, one from each house. There was a catch though none of the students would know until after the first trial. It would be a partnered competition and the stakes would be high and dangerous. Witching Hour is a Next Gen Prologue compliant Harry Potter game.
